Lets say you are flying a helicopter and you spot an anti-air at 4 - 6 km away. So which armament will reach the target first, an AGM-114K Hellfire or an AGR-20B (APKWS II M282)?
I know in the statcard it says the hellfire its faster, but then both missiles slow down and just glide, and thats where I think the speed its more important to know.
At 6km AGR is a few seconds faster according to the statshark calculator, mostly due to the AGM-114 lofting, so it has to actually travel further to reach the target, it also burns most of its energy in the loft:
At 4km the AGR is only 0.6sec faster:
From playing around with it a bit the AGR seems to have a better time to target at all ranges, the hellfire has a higher max speed but accelerates slower then bleeds the speed off faster.
I will point out that I tested the statshark time to target numbers in test drive and they are not perfect, but they are reasonably close.
