Question to those of y'all with supersonic jets: Does warthunder model wing rip speed varying with altitude?

Hello!

I don’t have a plane to reasonably test it with, nor familiar enough with the jets in game to do so with reproducible data. In Ferram Aerospace/KSP, I know that flying almost mach 2-3 at sea level and turning over 3 G means imminent death, while doing it at 20 km altitude lets you correct course with relative safety

This is mostly just a personal curiosity. I imagine it does since the stat card says max speed is dependent on IAS, and IAS varies with altitude but I want to make sure before I say sth dumb about usefulness of barometric altitude readouts.

It does affect it, yes. You can go faster at higher altitudes. At sea level you can hit around 1.2M with most planes. At altitude you can go much faster. A M2K will rip it’s wings at around 1.3M at sea level, but can go faster than that at altitude.

Sure does - max/rip speed are much lower at treetop height than 30,000 ft.

There are three speed indicators in the game: IAS, TAS, and Mach. You can imagine why.
