I would love to contribute to the war thunder wiki but im not quite sure what the wiki actually needs. From what I’ve looked around, every vehicle id like to write about already has a description and everything.
So my question is what would be useful to write about and where would that be placed on the wiki if not on the base vehicle page?
Well, there are a lot of articles that have not updated the information so you could start there. If you own any of the vehicles present on the wiki and the info seems a bit sus don’t be afraid of changing it.
Optimal MEC settings for various purposes, particularly gear seitch altitufes and dependence on temperature and for german props their prop pitch without killing the engine.
Id also say articles discussing the plane’s handling without the instructor and visibility are missing for helping new players pick planes.
it’s better to bring back the old one , more informations , can see the update patch notes ( the new one and the previous one ) , also about vehicles , their descriptions ( also cons and pros are not exist ) , and their pictures to see how they look etc.
If i have understood everything correctly:
No longer possible on the new wiki sadly.
Cant change other players written articles anymore.
Currently i would say information about all of the different missiles and bombs as those ar currently not present on the new wiki, other than that, probably vehicle history.
Everything you write will become its own article that other can the vote and comment on. I do not think it will be possible to change the main article anymore, just link back to it or ask the wiki-mods to link to your article about that vehicle.
The best you can do is creating a article on the vehicle’s page using the Editor tool or suggesting changes on the Forums for the Wikipedia team staff update their pages or ask the article author to update.
I’m currently working on some vehicle’s articles but still waiting for them be accepted or rejected, same as Forum’s suggestions post, vehicle articles now needs a verification. Hopefully the Game staff opens a Wikipedia Moderator or something like that application, I would love to help with the Wiki.
So what you are saying is just articles about ordinance specifics and their history, and general history of vehicles.
Alrighty ill definitely look into it.
That is at least my personal thought about it and what is most likely needed at the moment. It’s ultimately up to the Wiki-mods what they accept but if you read through the comments on the announcement here on the forum (and on the wiki itself) you might get some inspiration :)
