what
what what?
pretty much all vehicles that use this type of APS are placed at BRs where their softkill APS is just a gimmick/useless (T-90A/T-80UK and the PUMA aswell i think for example)
Similar to T-90A, their APS only stops the type of missiles they are not going to see in their br, so useless is the right word. And speaking of repair, they do more harm than good since they increase your overall repair time because they stack lol
Only use the HC to replace the SEPV2 in the survivability category as it proved to be better countless times.
They are technically all the same protection-wise, if you play the SEP it’s better you don’t equip the TUSK, it will do you no good other than making you exposed all the time, peek hill you get spotted first and making stealth kills impossible. The SEP still overall better than the HC and M1A2 since they has better sight zoom and higher thermal quality.
The HC get better turret ring protection but worse thermals with the same round and sitting at 11.7 that’s a win in my opinion as it wouldn’t get disabled as easy as the SEP,SEPV2.
it works aganst some atgm’s (for example, the legacy tows, not the tow-2’s though)
not sure what ur first comment meant
i only use M1A2 and the first SEP in my 12.0 line up, SEPv2 is so ass too. SEPv2 and M1A1 HC gotta be the 2 worst abrams in the game. The reason why I say M1A1 HC is bad is because it get HEAT as its stock round at 11.7 (stupid) and the APS doesnt do anything aside making u repair 20 seconds longer. Overall its not bad for an abrams but I really hate the 20 seconds extra repair time.
False, HC get better turret ring protection which you can tank some shots and in that BR everybody aims at the turret ring, so extra protection is really really really needed, also i suffered too with the stock HEAT but once i get APFSDS it turned out to be so much better and it might be the best Abrams ingame right now.
AIM is also excellent, it’s probably the best Abrams variant at 11.7 imo, it has the SEP variant zoom level and same thermal quality, the KEW is less pen but it’s way too little to make noticeable differences in gameplay, only time those uparmored Leopard 2s shows up there is a slightly higher chance of non-penning their front hull, but most shots will go through them without issues, they are about the same as 3BM60, unlike T-80Us still using 3BM46 at 11.7 lol
I only wish some of the future Abram’s with 120mm carry smoke shells like the IPM1, there are some positions I could get to with IPM1 but not with M1A2s due to the lack of smoke shells.
Honestly, i haven’t tried it at all but if get the same turret ring protection with better thermals but a worse dart then i would certainly add it to my lineup as a backup, but i mainly aim to the best protection even though i would sacrifice thermal quality, it’s a fair exchange.
There is no 120mm smoke round in US inventory. Very unlikely to ever have one. The Israelis might make a WP one though…
What’s that supposed to mean? You think you’re clever?
I hadn’t noticed any difference at all, the three 11.7s are just identical in terms of protection, the turret protection is definitely superior to the M1A1 and IPM1 at 11.3, went from not being able to take a hit to shrugging off top ammunition, even my playstyle slowly adjusting to trading fire with enemies in a hull down position, which is something I wouldn’t do in the 11.3 versions. Nevertheless still can’t beat the turret protection of Leopard 2 #1 and T-90s #2.
Uhhh my 11.7 HC’s turret does NOT reliably shrug off any top ammunition… I wish it feckin did but it does not. I want to play the game you’re playing.
I mean the turret cheeks on the M1A1 HC/M1A2s can definitely reliably shrug off most top tier rounds if shot from the front. Only realistic exception I can think of is that the Object 292 dart can pen the gunner cheek under certain conditions iirc.
That is not possible, unless every single death is point blank, if you choose to sit back and snipe hull down, a large part of the turret cheek area will bounce top rounds, >800m you are still pretty safe to trade, unless you are overexposed and they hit your breech area or a little under the barrel, those are not an easy spot to hit.
I do have vehicles that simply cannot take a hit without entering a critically wounded state, they barely maintain 2KDfor my playstyle, thats Leopard 2k for me, I played it the same way as Shir 2 and the Leo is 2KD and Shir 2 is currently 4.3 because it has turret armor, I believe in the end of the month I might hit 5.0
Well I don’t sit back and snipe, because with the kind of matches I get, I will get absolutely nothing by doing so. So maybe it is because I’m closer to the enemy. Also I doubt I’m ever shot in the front of the cheeks too. It’s usually sides of the turret or near there. Still though you DID just say “turret” in general you didn’t get specific until after…
