Question about researching tank

I started researching type 10 before the tech tree got updated, and when i finish researching type 10 i would need 3 more tanks from the rank above to actually get it. My question is if the type 90 (B) counts as a rank above tank since the tank is foldered

Folder vehicles are all the same rank. For your case, Type 90 (B) is Rank VII, same as Type 90 🙂
