Question about crew skills

Should I upgrade the agility skill on the role which gets replaced in case of getting killed or the crew that replaces it?
For instance driver and gunner will never switch to other roles but other crew members like the commander, loader and radio operator will replace them if the driver/gunner is killed so is the game’s logic A: upgrade the agility on commander and loader since they will jump in place of driver and gunner once they’re killed and don’t upgrade the agility skill on driver and gunner since they will never jump out of their seats or B: upgrade the agility on driver and gunner since other crew members will jump into their seats?
If the answer is A, do I even bother upgrading agility on driver and gunner at all?

only upgrade agility on them at the end :)

Agility is an average skill. The replacement time depends on the average level for the skill across all crew members, and all crew members have the same replacement time regardless of their own skill level in agility.

For example, here my loader has 5.5 agility skill while my radio operator has 5 agility skill, but the replacement time is exactly the same.

Therefore, it’s optimal to upgrade the crew member whose agility skill costs least to upgrade (in effect, your crew members will all have almost the same skill level). The same applies for keen vision and field repair, which are also average skills.

Yeah I’m almost done with other skills I was wondering which crew should I upgrade agility on

Thank you for the explanation

yeah looks like I was wrong

Except keen vision supposedly gets a bonus or individual skill counts when viewing thru optics. Ie; for the gunner and commander bino view.
Haven’t tested this specifically but I keep them a few steps above the rest of the crew.

Oh damn I didn’t know this… several xp points wasted. Thanks though!

gunner and driver are top pics.

It’s still the average no matter what view you are in, the binoculars and gunners sight gives 3x the distance to the average. :)

What does however affect it as far as i remember is thermal vision and the “improved optics” modification. Not entirely certain and can’t remember in what way, I’ll see if i can find more information.

Edit:
Can’t find any concrete information on the Therman/Nightvision effecting the range so i’m likely wrong about that part. The Improved optics modification does however multiply the range by 1.3x :)
