Python 5 missing DL and GNSS

I couldn’t find a bug report on this but i found out that the python 5 has DL+GNSS guidance from different sources 1 of those sources is RAFAEL USA in their website they stated :

“the missile includes a dual-waveband Focal Plane Array (FPA) Imaging Infra-Red (IIR) seeker, advanced computer architecture that, among other tasks, is responsible for the real-time seeker video processing, and an Inertial Navigation System (INS) based on FOG technology. The system’s full-sphere envelope is based on a combination of exceptional agility, Lock-On-After-Launch (LOAL) capability, powerful two-stage rocket motor”

RAFAELS advanced defense system main website states that one of the main capabilities of python 5 is :

“Target lock-on before and after launch (LOBL
& LOAL modes)”

The MDAA (missile defense advocacy alliance) stated in their website that :

“It can launch both of its interceptors, the short-range Python 5 and the medium range Derby, in fire-and-forget or fire-and-update modes”

the SPYDER system specifically utilizes “Fire-and-Update” modes for the Python 5 interceptor. This implies a mid-course Data Link (DL) that is currently missing in-game

The SPYDER AIO utilizes vertical/slant launching for 360-degree coverage. For the Python 5 to intercept a target before IR seeker acquisition (LOAL), it requires mid-course command guidance from the radar

On the SPYDER AIO, the I-Derby missile already possesses a Data Link in-game. Since both missiles share the same firing canisters, electronics, and Command & Control (C2) interface, the Python 5 should also have the Data Link (DL)

To achieve lock on after launch (LOAL) python 5 must be updated by the vehicles radar while it’s being launched vertically this is not implemented in the game as it only has IR+IOG guidance

If there are other sources please mention it someone should do a report on this for the devs

MDAA is not a reliable source.

No, it does not. LOAL can be done on pre-launch path programming.

Also, you do not address the GNSS claim.

What about MDAA’s statement? “Fire and update mode”
Both derby and python are managed by the same command and control (c2) unit
It’s dumb to say python doesn’t have data link
Also for gnss at the time I was looking for it but I didn’t find anything then I forgot to remove it from the title

MDAA is not connected to the manufacturer, they are not a government organization that could have acces to such data, and they don’t provide source for that statement. So, unless there is a direct primary source, this will not be considered.

Rafael in their official brochure happily states datalink for mid course correction on Derby missiles. They do NOT state the same for Python 5.

I agree. But we don’t have any clear source claiming that python 5 have DL. Its okay for spyder AIO to not have DL, but what about spyder MR and LR, those python 5 have a extra booster. 30-40km range without DL is stupid. I am more willing to believe python 5 have DL than not having it. In the end it doesn’t matter since we need source.

I am waiting for python 6 consider IAF did claim the service time of python 5 will be 20 years.
