I couldn’t find a bug report on this but i found out that the python 5 has DL+GNSS guidance from different sources 1 of those sources is RAFAEL USA in their website they stated :
“the missile includes a dual-waveband Focal Plane Array (FPA) Imaging Infra-Red (IIR) seeker, advanced computer architecture that, among other tasks, is responsible for the real-time seeker video processing, and an Inertial Navigation System (INS) based on FOG technology. The system’s full-sphere envelope is based on a combination of exceptional agility, Lock-On-After-Launch (LOAL) capability, powerful two-stage rocket motor”
RAFAELS advanced defense system main website states that one of the main capabilities of python 5 is :
“Target lock-on before and after launch (LOBL
& LOAL modes)”
The MDAA (missile defense advocacy alliance) stated in their website that :
“It can launch both of its interceptors, the short-range Python 5 and the medium range Derby, in fire-and-forget or fire-and-update modes”
the SPYDER system specifically utilizes “Fire-and-Update” modes for the Python 5 interceptor. This implies a mid-course Data Link (DL) that is currently missing in-game
The SPYDER AIO utilizes vertical/slant launching for 360-degree coverage. For the Python 5 to intercept a target before IR seeker acquisition (LOAL), it requires mid-course command guidance from the radar
On the SPYDER AIO, the I-Derby missile already possesses a Data Link in-game. Since both missiles share the same firing canisters, electronics, and Command & Control (C2) interface, the Python 5 should also have the Data Link (DL)
To achieve lock on after launch (LOAL) python 5 must be updated by the vehicles radar while it’s being launched vertically this is not implemented in the game as it only has IR+IOG guidance
If there are other sources please mention it someone should do a report on this for the devs
