“Way worse”? Buddy it’s only marginally different. And regardless, when you’re facing 12.0-13.0 jets, you’re airframe hardly matters with the missiles you’re capable of meeting.
But unlocking PL-12 is impossible :(
I just have a 16v16 playing with 12 in our team is J-8F, but half of us just died before the first contact

There’s a high chance for 12.3 jets to play with 12.7 or 13.0 now, last 4 of my games is all 12.7+ game
Harriers (and YaK-141) are good dogfighters instead of this flying brick, even have HMD, it will lost in a dogfight with Fulcrums or Gripens
Any bombs or rockets available? Try those. If not, go for the all aspects first. Grind is hell for almost everyone, don’t worry bro stuck with it and you can do it o7

J-8s could only destroy a full base with high drag 500kg bombs and 250kg bombs, but unlock the 500kg bomb is as hard as get the PL-12 if you not unlocked it before the patch

Well as you say that, J8F should go down to 12.0 since it has PL8 and there is no IRCCM capabilities available. I do agree pythons without IRCCM are over rated, but just from its stats many will not agree with this.
I suggested to people that J8 actually has a composite pylon capable of 3 250kg bombs, which could have helped grind if you can bomb bases at level 3. I probably will end up using Q5L as the RP grind for most of the next period.
We should, definitely, BR compression is through the ceiling.

How many 250s can it bring and also, which 250 is it, 250-3/250-4 or does it have the better 250-2

Yes but that’s 6 9L+ 4 7F, not 2 PL12 + 4 pythons. I get PL12 is good, but you get 2 of them and your flight model is not designed for dogfighting.
