HISTORY
In the 1930s, Denmark, like many other countries, carried out a number of different experiments with armored vehicles. These experiments included both types and their tactical use. The army regulations of 1932 and 1937 provided the organizational framework necessary for the two armored car companies, which from 1937 were designated armored car squadrons. The Army Technical Corps, which was in charge of these experiments, worked from the very beginning based on the thesis that the units should consist of a number of standard vehicles that in the event of mobilization were supplemented by a number of temporary armored cars. The latter were to be provided by means of loose superstructures that could be mounted on ordinary truck chassis. The period was characterized by fluctuating interest from the political and military side as well as by a severely limited economy, which several countries struggled with at this time. However, a number of experimental armored cars designated with the abbreviation (F.P.) were built and/or purchased.
Experimental armored car FP7 and FP8, with small differences in details and which, in addition to the Danish designation and modifications, is a Landsverk 180 (3-axle armored car, with traction on two axles). They were delivered in 1936. The armored cars were of the Landsverk 180 type, mounted on a 3-axle chassis from the German factory called Büssing. Although these armored cars were the best of these tests that had yet been acquired, they unfortunately functioned far from satisfactorily. They were difficult and heavy to handle, and the weak point was the front axle, which had a tendency to break down during more demanding off-road driving due to heavy loads.
Tires were of the solid massive cushion type. The armament of the Danish vehicles was a 20 mm Madsen M/1933 L /60 machine gun and 2x Madsen 8 mm M/1924 type C machine guns. However, on August 29, 1943, it was all over. Both vehicles were seized by the Germans and sent abroad.
IN GAME
This could be a fun armored car for the lower ranks in the game, either to be added in an Danish subtree or as a part of a combined Danish/Norwegian techtree. It is a mobile enough vehicle with decent armament, and would serve more or less like the PV M/39 Landsverk lynx as it is more or less an larger, more armored version of that-
