Why when 8.7s are superior to it?
Clearly 8.7s are performing better than T-55AM1, and likely will continue to do so.
compression sucks but its ALWAYS better for one vehicle to suffer because of it being somewhat unbalancable than for it to be too low and ruin a bracket. It’s better than every other 8.3 and stomps on anything lower.
8.3s on-par with T-55AM1:
Chieftain Mk3:
Slower.
They can pen each other with Chieftain having slightly more survivability above the LFP.
Chieftain’s APDS round has more penetration 320mm at 60 degrees.
Object 122MT:
As fast.
Same rather bad dart.
Has ATGMs.
Can bounce T-55AM1’s dart with ease.
No HEAT protection.
AMX 30B2.
Fast.
Thermals.
Meta dart.
No armor.
BRENUS can deflect ATGMs.
Olifant Mk1 & Strv 104, Strv 103C, Shot Kal Gimel, and Magach 6R.
The problem is not essentially the T-55AM1, the problem is two things, one would be that the +1-1 BR balance is an error because sometimes it faces tanks that have almost no chance against others, and the other problem is that many tanks do not carry the ammunition they should use, for example the British lack the equivalent of the 105mm APDS M728, which does pierce a T-55AM1
I have and like playing the turm III, for me it has:
Awesome mobility;
Good ammo choices for the br;
Awesome RoF;
Terrible armor most of it is 20mm;
Exposed 1st stage ammo;
No smoke;
No NVD;
No LRF;
This thing plays like a light tank in No circumstance should you take return fire.
If uptiered to 8.7 it should be compared to the
leo a1a1:
Similar mobilty;
Similar traverse, worse depression;
Slower reload;
Better allround armor;
Better round DM23;
LRF;
NVD;
Smoke grenades;
If it wasn’t for those last three items, i would say OK uptier it to 8.7, the lack of a dart can be compensated with the autoloader.
For now just move it to 8.3 in RB, because it’s already there in AB, the mode i play. Where i get great games, but if someone sees you, you’re done you can’t hide the huge ammo rack on the left side of the turret, when looking at it.
Rarely use the 30mm on it, either shoot at air or lights from the side, 50 mm on the sap round leaves every ussr tank in the clear, because they all have 80mm or more side armor.
Not shooting the Upper Frontal Plate is also an option.
It’s clear, but there are possibilities on many occasions, instead try something with the M48 or the AMX30 with their HEAT.
The side armor on the T95 is over the mac pen for the 30mm autocannon on the turms 3. Yet the 30mm, not the 105mm. Can pen right through the side of the T95. How is that at all balanced? Tigers, leos, m60s, t55s, t54s, all struggle to pen the side with the slightest angle yet the turms 3s 30mm can go right through?
