Why was the ability to track air vehicles removed from the PUMA VJTF? It is allready weak and now its even weaker, whats the point in that?
Removed? Still working on my end
First you should prove that it was actually removed before making a topic about why it was removed.
I assume from his screenshot not even looking at the sky that he expected the Puma (and by extension the other F+F ATGM vehicles) to have a search radar? lol. But yes, lock works as always.
Someone explain to me why Spikes can lock Comanches at full range
It’s an optically guided missile and the Comanche isn’t invisible
because the missiles are TV guided lofting munitions, unfortunately this was deemed overpowered in the April fools event awhile back, ideallyif the missiles were properly modeled to their full cababilities the missiles don’t even need a lock in the first place, the operator would fire the missile then once the missile is at a high altitude the operator would guide it in. There’s several videos of actual war time usage of them being accurately guided into men sticking out of tank hatches that promptly end soon after… its partially why the missiles are so slow…
Aren’t they IR seekers in game though?
IR/CCD seeker, gaijin calling it just an IR seeker is an oversimplification,
the IR seeker of a spike is not the same as the IR seeker on an aim9
Yes, but to simulate its IRL properties they’re given basically perfect seeker performance specs, as you can see in the datamines. 20,000 rangeBand0 and rangeBand1 (most top tier IR missiles have 11,000 rangeBand0 and around ~3,000 rangeBand1), 0.1 fov and gateWidth (even gating IR missiles only have 0.75 gateWidth), and so on.
