How the hell does that work?
Wired missiles do not have a seeker in any form as far as I am aware

No clue but hensoldt marketed muss 2.0 to block wire guided missiles and beam riders (it’s probably just by deploying smokes but idk)
So from what i can understand from Hensoldt and PSM. The MUSS Jammer System operates in the same Wave Length as these Launcher Systems which is also connected with the ATGM and the Jammer basically overloads the Launcher System itself with false Information making the ATGM which was fired to lose control. And this is just what is written for the MUSS 1.0 and the MUSS 2.0 enhances that Capability Further with Laser Jamming which not only works more effectively against these Launchers (I.e more confusion) but since its a laser based System it can really mess with FnF Missiles (Similarly to what we see in the air with DIRCMs.)
Wire guided missiles like hot and tow use an IR goniometer to track the relative position of the ATGM WRT the crosshair.
MUSS jams this IR goniometer
Ohh ok, does this work on beam-riding missiles too?
According to my understanding, Beam riding missiles cannot be jammed.
The only countermeasures that come to mind are obscuring the LOS from the shooter via smoke screen OR directing the MUSS Laser beam directly into the optics of the launcher of the beam riding missile in order to blind the operator, however this would not cause the missile to change course, rather only prevent the operator from making adjustments. In a sense, BR missiles which have had their operator blinded by DIRLCM would behave like dumb rockets without a ballistic trajectory.
Ah, makes sense. Thanks for the explanation
I don’t think you understood, i was speaking about all helicopters, because foxmep said that all helis are op, so explained why not. Or i am already lost in this discussion.
Anyway i have no time, i will just read comments later
There is also microwave but the goal is to cook the electronics. This is one solution to drone warfare even fiber optic as its too heavy to properly shield ammo like a beam riding missile or drone so cooking the electronics are always an option. Though you can out run the cooking of your electronics if your luckily enough
Though with power requirements microwave is more or less strategic you make a big microwave bubble and pray a plane doesn’t bomb it. Its also $$$ and tells everyone the location because your broadcasting but it works.
China is heavily investing in this stuff and trying to make it mobile and smaller. Can sort of fit on a truck or ship one goal is to place them on tanks one day. Jammers only work well on pure off the shelf civil stuff any changes and drone can get though. Otherwise works for protecting a base.
That falls into DEW rather than DIRLCM
True but does kind of both its one of the weaknesses your half blinding yourself / wreaking your own stuff anyway its likely the least useful against a beam ridding missile unless there firing on your base. If they are you should have built blast wall like everyone else.
