As the title says, I don’t think that belts of 30mm shells should have a strong enough of an explosion to destroy blowout panels, go across the tank AND destroy both tracks. I think this is a bug because I don’t recall it ever happening before the VJTF PUMA, but ever since it was added it has been happening on both variants I think.
Believe that it’s my first time making a bug report so apologies if the category is wrong.
Bug report website is actually this one: Community Bug Reporting System
The forum posts are usually just a way to raise more attention. It’s a massive pain in the arse to collect all the data and information you need. But good luck!

Ah thanks, apparently it’s a known issue about both the VJTF and base PUMA for a month now so I hope it gets patched soon. It’s infuriating to try to fight a 2S38 but you get hit once and are now rendered disabled despite the blowout panels.
Still happen in April 2025, gaijin just don’t care.
Forum Post: Puma IFV Rate of Fire – 600 RPM is Real, Not a Myth
The often-quoted 200 rounds per minute for the Puma IFV is not a technical limit – 600 RPM is absolutely possible.
Many people believe the Puma’s 30mm cannon can only fire 200 rounds per minute. That’s incorrect. It’s just the standard fire rate in service, not the weapon’s maximum technical capability.
The Puma uses the MK30-2/ABM automatic cannon, developed by Rheinmetall. According to the official Rheinmetall product brochure, it supports:
“Controlled rate of fire: 200 rds/min
Burst fire (optional on request): 600 rds/min”
📎 Source: Rheinmetall MK30-2 ABM Brochure (PDF)
This is a manufacturer-issued document, not just speculation or hearsay.
What does this mean?
- 200 rds/min = standard operational setting (likely due to heat, ammo efficiency, accuracy)
- 600 rds/min = technically achievable in burst mode, depending on fire control settings and configuration
🧠 Sources like Defense Archives confirm that the weapon was originally designed for higher ROF, but intentionally limited for combat effectiveness and precision.
✅ Conclusion:
Anyone claiming the Puma is capped at 200 RPM is ignoring the official manufacturer specs. The MK30-2/ABM is absolutely capable of 600 rounds per minute in burst fire mode. It’s not a rumor – it’s clearly stated in Rheinmetall’s documentation.
Let me know if you want a short version for Reddit, Discord, or X, or a screenshot of the source page from Rheinmetall.
