Since the Ninth Wave major update I have problems with Visual glitches.
Some times their small diagonal lines of green squares, other times It’s one bigger black square that flickers on the screen.
The green squares interact with the exhaust of tanks and planes (potentially also ships) by turning into smaller flickering black squares. In one instance the green squares where also only visible when I was shooting. Furthermore they also change color when using thermals. They also can’t appear infront of the minimap or the courser in the Hangar, and the green squares also reflect off of water and the floor in the ground vehicle premium Hangar. They always appear in the Hangar and the first match when I start the game, and often disappear for a bit after the first round and reappear later. Sometimes they also appear and disappear when looking in different directions in the Hangar.
I made a bug report a couple of days ago, but I would like to know if anyone else has this problem and/or a solution.
I don’t have these issues on Xbox, but I do see track wheels floating in the sky. I haven’t had graphical issues for 1-2 years but of course I get the cruddy frame rate (Series S user lol)
Maybe a PlayStation issue? They’ll fix it eventually, and by that I mean later in the year.
The wheels floating is something I also see, but that’s probably a gaijin bug.
I am not sure if It’s a PlayStation issue, since the squares inteact with vehicles and reflective surfaces.
Although to be fair, around the same time as the squares started appearing most of my other games started crashing quite often.
Maybe my PS5 is just beyond its best times.
Possibly yes if you bought one 5+ years ago. My Xbox Series S has been used heavily since I got it at the end of 2021. It’s probably done for. It nearly crashes every time I try to minimise a game or re-open one that’s been hibernated by Quick Resume. Now they added a feature to disable it, and I’m just going to disable Quick Resume for every game I play.
Another thing - I used to have a surge protector board and I’d flick it off with the ‘RESET’ switch because I was too lazy to crawl under my desk and flick the switch on the plug. Big mistake. The ‘RESET’ is not an off button, and flicking that switch can send electricity back into your console or PC! I only figured this out when the surge board started making an electrical hissing noise. I had to throw it out and it wasn’t even very old but I aged it by flicking that reset button all the time.
I’m overdue for a new console but I’m probably overdue for a new monitor too lol. Just had an auto-upholstery guy put some nice firm foam on my computer chair because that was more important (comfort). Barely any money to fix anything else :(
I just checked, I got my PS5 at the end of 2022, time really flies by. I also have used it a lot (4500 hours in war thunder alone, over 2100 of them aren’t even in battles) it’s probably at between 10000-15000 hours in total, and the cooling fan also gets somewhat noisy sometimes when I update or open games (I didn’t know you need to clean it every now and then for 1,5 or 2 years).
What still confuses me though is 1. That War Thunder never crashes like every other game I play,
And 2. Should the glitches really be caused by my console, how can they interact with the game
(the interacting with vehicle exhausts and disappearing when I look in a certain direction would make sense, but I don’t understand how they could interact with themals or be reflected by surfaces).
bro its part of design so not a bug.
