This game mode is due for big overhaul, as this is what kept this game retention after so long, been playing this game since it was in Beta when I was started High School, the community, represent as Squadron is home to so many old and new player to the grind, but aside that, this game mode should be more popular for more people as every game need a retention of it’s player base. If Gajin could make new more impressive vehicle and visual, etc… with more incoming update, it would keep thing somewhat fresh but it is lack luster in the end as more grindy for player and not so rewarding as putting what it have to offer for those who wanted thrills through competition, thrills through cooperation, never forget how the laugh and giggle and or frustration after a good game, E-sport for War Thunder be damm! Squadron battle is more thrilling and more engaging! And with lower cost :)
This is something I think we would all love to see, the game mode does deserve more!
If we’re talking about changes to SQB formatting, I’d love if there was a week long dynamic format.
Mon-Tues: Aircraft only 8v8s
Wed-Thurs: Tank only 8v8s
Fri-Sun: Standard SQB style
I’d love to have something like this to really change up the dynamic of how people play this mode. Its always the same comps & same strats because the meta never changes.
Definitely agree with all this, SQB needs to feel and be more rewarding and the gamemode itself needs some tweaks aswell like maybe giving a certain amount of squadron vehicle research points

SQB definitely needs some changes to be more appealing for not only top of the line players but also for not so achieved ones. And this suggested changes looks like a good step to achieve that.

I agree with mostly all of the changes, although I disagree with the rework of the bracket system.
Yes, having closer games would be a great thing, don’t get me wrong. But there are (at this moment) too many downsides to that change:
-
Slower queues. (I prefer a quick match over just sitting in a queue).
-
Perhaps facing the same team multiple times in a row. This already happens currently, and it’s alright. But with a smaller sample size, it would get out of hand.
NAT0 player here! :P
He’s so right +1
Good Idea! +1
I agree

A noble cause with some solid proposed changes, nice work [FIR3]
blue apocalypse in this comment section or what?
I believe these ideas can positively impact the game mode! As I personally feel it’s better to give us SQB players more rewards for our hard work and dedication to our squadrons! - member of PZGD / PZGH
maybe some new sqb “exclusive” maps also
I completely agree with your proposal. Squadron Battles definitely deserve more attention, and the ideas you’ve suggested would go a long way toward making the mode more rewarding and sustainable.
- Rewards & Incentives: Tying unique rewards and research opportunities to SQB would give players a real reason to commit long-term. The addition of exclusive decals, decorations, and small GE/SL is an excellent motivator without breaking game balance.
- Squadron Identity: Having squadron icons and better recruitment tools would help squads feel more visible and recognized in-game.
- Game Mode Structure: I especially support the suggestion to rebalance points and matchups. SQB takes more coordination than random battles, so the research and performance rewards should reflect that effort.
All in all, your suggestions highlight exactly what’s missing in SQB right now: meaningful rewards, recognition, and fairer competition. I hope the devs take a serious look at these improvements.
+1 from me.

This would really help squadrons who have lower active players because there would be a real incentive to play. Hopefully the right people at gaijin will see this and actually think about improvements like this. RedF0x190404 - Nightfall member.
