Proposed Updates to the SQB gamemode

1. Allow players to earn more experience for SQ tech

  • Provide players with the opportunity to gain increased experience when using or upgrading SQ tech.

2. Add the option to participate in both events and battle passes

  • Allow participation in both events and battle passes at the same time,
    or
  • Add a separate battle pass specifically for SqB.

3. Additional rewards for top 10 and top 3 Sq

  • Enable each team that finishes in the top 10 at the end of the season to apply for their own personal decal.
    • The decal remains active throughout the current season.
    • If the team remains in the top 10 in subsequent seasons, the decal stays active.
  • Add the option for personal skins for the top 3 Sq.
    • Submission would use the same system as decals.

4. Rework the point deduction mechanics in SqB

  • Revise the mechanics of point loss during battles, as points can currently drop too quickly in situations such as:
    • When only one allied aircraft remains with no ground units, and the enemy still has ground units — causing a rapid loss of points.
    • When landing at an airfield for reloading, the game treats it as leaving the battle, resulting in immediate point drain.
  • This prevents teams from even attempting a comeback, so the system needs to be adjusted to reflect real battle conditions more fairly.

I honestly feel like SQB should also have the chance to gain points on event vehicles, like the R400 right now.

Thats 100% true, this is competetive gamemode and it requires the point of playing. Adding rewards will make more squadrons intreseted in sqb- that’s the real reason for update. I hope snalil hear us.

Couple additional ideas.

Allow mission score from SQBs to contribute to grind events.

SQB centric daily or special tasks.

These are pretty minor but it would be something.

I love this proposal. I just wish that the gaijin devs would actually listen to the community when there are things asked like this. They haven’t touched this god-forsaken gamemode in years.

Yes, SQB mode should be eligible to grind events - probably with a multiplier between RB and SB.

Hello again @Stona_WT its been 2 months since this thread has had any staff interaction and its been about half a year since the first ideas were suggested.

Do you have any update on this thread or could you give the players in the SRE community an idea on when/if we will ever get some progress on this thread/gamemode?

I think we haven’t gotten any response because they can’t say “the devs haven’t gotten off their asses to improve the gamemode since September”

I do think that communication is key here and i hope that we hear from @Stona_WT soon regarding this thread.

there are 70,000 war thunder players who play squadron realistic events and those who play this game mode tend to be very involved in the game, community and support Gajin by buying a lot of packs, Ge and more, So it is a real shame to see how slow progress is and how little communication there is between Gajin and the players.
