Well… one main advantage oscillating turrets have is that the turret ring is significantly more armored than conventional tanks. :)
I think the main problem is people forgetting that it is still a US heavy, facing it head-on is the worst thing to do, while facing it from any angle allows you to capitalize on the 51mm weak sides.
Even those “weak” sides bounce a lot. They love to shatter APDS
If you’re shooting APDS wouldn’t it be smarter to aim for the front hull instead? :)
You must consider you, and the enemy are likely moving at the same time, also you have “consider camera vertical angle” on. Turn that off.
Fairly forgiving if you ask me.
The T58 is unstabilized, as with most oscillating turrets. The area under the mantlet is a pretty safe area to shoot. :)
Right under the gun is the ideal spot to shoot, but if it’s hull down forget it.
Oscillated turrets bounce less than normal guns usually.
Then shoot the barrel out or don’t engage a hulldown tank. :)
At 8.3, multitudes of other vehicles already have stabilizers, even the Russian heavies do for the most part.

Tiger E also has more gunner zoom at 5x, where kv220 only at 3.5x, one will see better and aim better, also terrain pattern doesn’t restrict the gun as much as kv where a slight angled terrain will make the gun point at the moon.

Perhaps this is because the KV-220 is more suited for close quarters brawls over midrange dominance? :)

The T-10M is kinda crap. And with the T-58s barrel it’s hard to snipe it doesn’t have a weak barrel
But it has access to ~400mm pen APDS and HEATFS, no?
Its APDS shatters more than the Brit’s does. The HEAT FS does really low damage for some reason. The APHE is the way to go to be honest.

the apds is akin to a casino roulette - it either shatters on a side of a sheridan or lolpens a t-72
aphe is the only way tbh
to be fair, its breech armor is like 50mm thick so its not hard to disable
it sucks massive donkey balls
dont forget the abysmal reload rate

hmm… really gets that noggin joggin
The Somua does. I swear it has to be semi stabalized.

there is a certain pattern to those ((unexplainable)) things… hmm… i wonder what it is…
also technically the somua is not a part of AMX series even if it does bear a resemblance to them

It’s always amusingly tragic when people keep trying to say premium vehicles give a mechanical edge.

For france, the real trouble is the amx light tanks series. The amx13(HOT) is at a crazy high 8.3 with HOT ATGM and 200mm pen APCBC, i’d personnatly look it sit at 7.7 better.
