This tank is just awful, it has no redeemable qualities. It’s a significantly worse M48 (which is already an incredibly average tank) at the same BR.
The ammo options are pretty awful. The AP has barely any pen for the caliber, the APDS does almost no damage, and the HEATFS is HEATFS. It’s pretty much impossible to one tap things, and the damage you do is pretty negligible.
You also have a 10 second reload aced, more than 3 seconds longer than the M48 for an objectively worse gun (M48 has APHE and HEATFS, at least, and the 90mm HEATFS only loses 60mm of pen compared to 105mm HEATFS.).
Your armor might seem okay and that’s true for the hull. But go to the armor analysis and you’ll realize that your turret cheeks can be penned by almost anything. The neck of the turret is a mere ~160mm (pennable by the 17-pounder and KwK42) and the “pike” on the cheek is literally about 110mm thick. Not to mention, you have the famous American cupola which loves to get you killed.
As for mobility, it’s… okay. Slightly slower than the M48 but still okay. It won’t win any races but it’s also not obnoxiously slow.
There are literally no positives to using it or any quirks you can take advantage of. It’s just dogsh*t. Mediocre or bad at everything.
Beats me. That’s why I said perhaps a slight reload buff would be better. Same thing with the Aubl-74 HVG. Since it has good rounds, but terrible damage in the Aubl, thus a reload buff would help it

I do not own the T54E2, I don’t play 7.7 either. Read further into the context before immediately responding rudely and insulting someone’s mental state
For a tank at 7.7 with a post 400 pen APDS with about 140 angled pen. Which isnt seen until about 8.7 ish on tanks.

BTW this is incorrect, I use both the T54E1 and E2 and the APDS slams expecially for 7.7
The gun is a 105mm VS a 90MM cannon at 7.7, the 105 is substantially more damaging when it penetrates.
The turrets been okay for me, this though, with the PZH2000 and stuff rolling around has ruined one too many games for me with it.
The tank is fine for 7.7, its yet another victim of compression, no 6.3 in the game has the right to see this thing.
nah its got a good APDS , actively a good APDS on the t54E1 as well, the only ammo I used on the E1, good velocity, decent post pen, about the same as any other APDS and providing you aren’t just throiwng it mindlessly will one tap almost every tank even up to 8.7.
Shoulda specified, the conversation about the T54E2. I understand if someone’s skimming and they saw mine first and replied to it, but even then after I’ve explicitly stated that I was not the one originally talking about it gets annoying when the same person keeps trying to argue with you over it. It’s like if someone made a TL:DR on an essay and your first response was to debate them over the points in said essay rather than the person who wrote said essay.

Once more, while this argument isn’t about the actual nature of your response, why did you reply to the person who was simply shortening someone elses reply so it could be added rather than the person who actually posted the original? It’s not like you skimmed through and only saw that comment of mine and not the ones later on. You could argue you used the slider, but even then you would’ve been able to see that it was from March and a reply, plus there would’ve been comments below it.
