Proposal to Improve Germany's Air Tech Tree with Austrian/Swiss Subtree

su-35 for russia, j-16 for china and F15 (advanced versions of it). The typhoon is good don’t get me wrong, but you can compare it with the planes i listed above and the other Eu deltas.

I really doubt that it will be that long. It will probably come well before the F-22.

Again, the F-18 is equivalent, if not worse than the F-16. I don’t see what the problem is.

I see your point. However, the problem is that Germany doesn’t have anything but a Soviet MiG-29 and a Phantom, fighting more advanced versions of F16s, F18s, and everything else we mentioned.

Let’s say the Typhoon was added. What would it compete with, without being unbalanced?

Also, why do we need a massive gap from the Phantom to Eurofighter?

Other Typhoons probably, or a Su variant, or an F-16 with better missiles… There are only like 4 planes that people play at top tier already.

Once again… the issue is not only that but the game needs to evolve even more, the new gen of IR missiles such as AIM9X, PL-10 and IRIS-T will have to be implemented with these new planes. It requires time.

You think a F16 can compete with a Typhoon?

Later blocks of the F16 prolly can go at it. I’m talking about F16s with AIM9X and AIM-120D… much different from current f-16s.

The Eurofighter Typhoon and the later blocks of the F-16 Fighting Falcon are both highly capable multi-role fighter aircraft, but they have distinct differences in performance, technology, and capabilities. Here’s a comparison highlighting the main areas of superiority for the Typhoon over the later blocks of the F-16:

1. Performance:

  • Speed and Maneuverability: The Typhoon has a higher top speed (Mach 2.0) compared to the F-16 (Mach 2.05), but it generally excels in maneuverability due to its canard-delta wing design and advanced aerodynamics.
  • Thrust-to-Weight Ratio: The Typhoon typically has a superior thrust-to-weight ratio, providing better acceleration and climb rate.

2. Avionics and Sensors:

  • Radar: The Typhoon is equipped with the advanced Captor-E AESA radar, which offers superior range, resolution, and multi-target tracking capabilities compared to the F-16’s APG-68 (V)9 or even the newer APG-83 SABR AESA radar found in the latest blocks.
  • Sensor Fusion: The Typhoon benefits from advanced sensor fusion capabilities, integrating data from various sensors to provide a comprehensive situational awareness picture.

3. Stealth and Survivability:

  • Design: While neither aircraft is truly stealthy, the Typhoon’s design incorporates more measures to reduce its radar cross-section (RCS) than the F-16.
  • Electronic Warfare: The Typhoon has a more advanced electronic warfare suite, enhancing its survivability against modern threats.

4. Weapons and Payload:

  • Weapon Integration: Both aircraft can carry a wide array of modern munitions, but the Typhoon’s advanced avionics allow for more seamless integration and use of next-generation weapons.
  • Payload Capacity: The Typhoon has a higher maximum payload capacity, allowing it to carry more weapons and fuel.

5. Multirole Capabilities:

  • Versatility: While the F-16 is a highly versatile aircraft, the Typhoon is designed from the ground up as a true multi-role fighter, excelling in both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions without compromising performance.

Conclusion

While the F-16 later blocks are highly capable and cost-effective fighters with numerous upgrades enhancing their capabilities, the Eurofighter Typhoon generally offers superior performance, avionics, survivability, and multirole capabilities. The choice between the two often comes down to mission requirements, budget, and existing infrastructure.

I don’t have the time to fact check all of this but at that point later versions of the F15 will do it, later versions of the Russian and Chinese flankers will do the same, the other EU deltas will do the same…

I agree. However, Germany will have to spend the next one to two years having the worst top-tier air, for no real good reason, other than people just not wanting Germany to have a good top-tier for whatever reason…

And, we’re not even sure how Gaijin will choose to balance the Typhoon anyways.

Probably gonna result to a Swiss F18 or something like that, i highly doubt Gaijin will forget of a popular nation like Germany. Once again i point out that they could have waited on the France sub to give it to Germany (still Japan would have priority imo)

I would hope so, but as you can see, there are people against it for some reason.

My friend, sadly our lovely game gets political real fast, just ignore it.

Switzerland is the only nation suggested for Germany that I dont actually have issue with. It makes sense and unlike most of the others. Doesnt necessarily have a better placement elsewhere

What? give germany a J35? and Saab-105 because Sweden has their own domestic production Leopards? I see no reason giving Germany a J35, its current Aircraft outmatch the J35s anyway.

“By that standard give Sweden a BF-109, ohwait, Yea. Finland”

Also depends on what the Eurofighter comes with. It probably will not come immediately with all the bells and whistles it has access to today.

Yeah. Im expecting one of the DAs first.

  • Maybe Tornado engines
  • likely none of the defensive systems like the MAWS and ECM
  • Aim-9Ms and Aim-120B / C5s
  • Maybe a more limited Flight performance
  • No A2G (beyond maybe some small dumb bombs or CBUs)
  • Limited AAM hardpoints 8-10

At this point in time it doesn’t have any good placement unless that one begins with a letter G and ends with a letter Y (Germany). Italy has Hungary + likely Romania in the future, France is going to receive BeNeLux, Sweden has Finland and all other Nordic countries are going to chip in down the line via premium & event vehicles.

It quite literally is a match made in heaven. Too bad for Argentina though :(

Yep. Its pretty good.

Thing with stuff like Argentina is that. Could it be better as part of, even as the core nation of a LATAM tree?

Same for Poland as part of a WARSAW pact TT

I’ve also seen Germany consider Spain as a Sub-TT. But that would be better as its own TT with Portugal.

I’ve also seen them ask for Turkey (which I really dont get) but that could go a lot of different places

Yeah Switzerland is the only nation that doesn’t take away from somewhere else unfairly

*(it also legitamizes them taking our bloody hunter :P )

Im just happy gaijin didnt split the “Familiy” Apart, We nordic people see eachother as neighbors. Except Denmark denmark is the joke of the party. But still Scandinavia is considered united both by military and politically.
