Hello, I would like to suggest the KRI Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin (376).

KRI Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin (376) is Project 133.1 anti-submarine corvette (NATO callsign “Parchim I class”) currently operated by the Indonesian Navy. The ship had previously served in the East German Navy and was acquired by Indonesia from the reunified Germany in 1993.

The difference between the Pr.1331M, that we already have in-game in the USSR coastal tree, and this ship that I’m suggesting are its various sensors, machinery, and weaponry. However, the most unique factor that sets it apart in terms of gameplay is its weaponry.

As the title suggest, compared with the Pr.1331M, the KRI Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin traded the powerful single-barrel 76mm gun with a rapid-fire twin-barrel 57mm AK-725 gun. The ship also has a 30mm Type 730 gatling gun with 5,800 RPM instead of 6-barrel 30mm AK-630 gatling gun, which has 5,000 RPM.

The ship also has two single M71/08 20mm guns and traded its 2x twin 533mm torpedo tubes with 2x triple 324mm Mk 32 torpedo tubes.

History

Spoiler

Project 133.1 anti-submarine ship was developed by East Germany in late 1970s to replace Volksmarine’s old sub-chaser boats. The ships were designed for coastal anti-submarine warfare, with their primary target in case the Cold War had gone hot were West Germany’s Type 206 submarines. The Volksmarine ordered 16 ships of the class, with the Soviet Navy also ordering 12 ships of their own variant, so that the production would be more economically feasible.

This ship was built by Peene-Werft shipyard in Wolgast and entered service with the East German Navy (Volksmarine) as Bad Doberan on 30 June 1982. Following the reunification of Germany, the ship was laid up. Indonesia acquired lots of ex-Volksmarine ships, including the entire members of the Project 133.1 corvette in 1993.

This particular ship was renamed to KRI Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin, named after the last ruler of Jambi Sultanate, and entered service with the Indonesian Navy on 25 February 1995. The ship’s original engines were replaced with two Caterpillar CAT 3516B diesel engines during a refit in 2005. Its AK-230 gun was replaced with Type 730 gun in late 2014. KRI Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin is assigned to the Indonesian Navy’s First Fleet Command, responsible for guarding Western Indonesia.

This would be an interesting premium for either Russia or China, or perhaps even Japan as part of a more general South East Asian naval sub-tree. Regardless, I really like the option of either the 20mm guns or the Strela launchers. Interesting that the DShK only occupies one side, though. +1

no please i dont want any more op ai costal boats snipeing me at 13k feet at

Sit in Spawn and rain hell lmao

+1 it’d be interesting to see this. I wonder if it would be added on Russia or China?

In my opinion it’s either Germany (because it’s a former East German ship) or Russia, and maybe Japan as JamesPond1200 has suggested. I’m not sure about China though, as the only Chinese stuff on the ship are the CIWS and radars

+1 it would be nice to have both east german version and indonesian 2014 modification in german tree.
