maybe im just really retarded but i got a problem with my aircraft radar
appears to have target on something in the center
radar wont pick up targets and I cannot switch targets
sometimes it does pick them up but they don’t appear where they are supposed to be and I still cannot switch to them
I can still lock radar on target and acm/hmd work fine
problem not limited to specific aircraft
here it is with the f4j
Only thing I can think of is the controls for the target selector for the radar that allow you to slew the selector around.
It’s called something like Radar/IRST target cue axis. Lets you pick your target to lock.

Well that particular plane doesnt have a good radar to begin with. Sometimes, and I dont know if you have BR 12.3 - 12.7 planes on up, which is where the radar starts getting good, and you also have to learn how to start notching missiles if you want to survive…You may be looking at a plane (with a bad radar) that is flying at a notch angle, going away from you…etc. With some of those earlier radars in the Phantom, some of the planes you are trying to lock have to pretty much be in the optimal position. If that is your top tier area you are in the radar probably seems pretty good from where you just came from.
I used to go through the same thing. But as you progress, you will see that it wasnt you, you just dont realize how ineffective those radars really are until you hop into a Mig 29, F16ADF,…on and on. Just because there are control options for different things on the radar, it doesnt necessarily mean that your radar has those options. Take a look at your radar on the xray view and it will really tell you quite a bit.
And then TimsVariety Radar Guide Warthunder on YouTube, will give you a LOT of information.
