Grinding France TT i notice one thing playing AMX mbts. And that is that the 20mm coax rarely even pens a light armored vehicles from side. I had problem to pen Ozelot not only from behind, but also from side even tho the pen is suppose to be 52mm at 100m. It is thanks to also around 90% of those AP rounds just shatters on impact. I think the problem lise that even tho the stat card says HVAP-T, the animation shot APCR and probably Gaijin is still using a APCR for that gun. Tho im not sure as when i look some 20mm with HVAP use HVAP on animation and some use APCR. Would be nice if it was fixed. I would make a bug report but i dont know how to capcure a videos nor do a bug report.

Wiesel DM is kinda buggy with up to 20 mm cannons. Had plenty of times when it received no damage at all, but belts with APDS, Bushmasters and 2A42/2A72 works fine
Well APDS belts will for sure work fine…but i wonder why HVAP shell is so bad. Like i should be able to shread any light vehicles pretty much, at least from side. But im having peoblem with pennin a SPAAs? Im sure that it is a bug…it must be
It performs awful in game, any shell. In addition belt is half HVAP/HEFI.

HVAP and APCR are the same thing.
It’s just that HVAP is a US designation and APCR is a British one. But they are two designations for the same round.

I mean, it’s model have a lot of angles and HVAP can’t work with high angles. APCR and HVAP have high flat pen, but it falls off quickly.
Hmmm love protection analisis. Show green places where i should pen. Move mouse to the place…non pen…ahh Gaijin…would be nice to have it fix…but i guess there are more important things like addind more premium tanks

All 20mm cannons has this issue, due, obviously the low caliber. I think this is a game issue as it happens in every 20mm cannon.
With ‘’‘HVAP’‘’ in belt. Normal AP should perform better
Tho…from my experiance with M42 Contraereo which also has a 20mm also have a HVAP (and i know also a AP round in the belt) i have no problem with that. And you would think that the angled T-34 turret would be problem for thoes shells

With the new modules Gepard and few others based on the 35mm Oerlikon anti air got more tankier and somehow can survive more even with shots directly on the turret.
I sometimes managed to survive with the Type 87 SPAA, same with Gepards managing to survive a burst from autocannon and high caliber shots.

Well, there is 4 cannons, while AMX have single one. Plus at these BR’s tanks weakspots are often flat plates
