Good day!
We would like to draw attention to the issues in Squadron Battles (SB), specifically to highlight the lack of development of Squadron Battles alongside the game (aside from Battle Rating changes) and the decreasing interest of the target audience (TA).
The topic is divided into two major sections:
I. Player interest issues in Squadron Battles
II. Matchmaking issues in Squadron Battles
Each point is structured as follows:
-
The problem itself.
-
A brief explanation.
-
Proposed change(s).
Below are proposals for the development of Squadron Battles, put forward by commanders of various squadrons (including top squadrons).
Player Interest Issues in Squadron Battles
Below are points that briefly explain the current issues related to unjustified rewards for the effort invested during a season (i.e., the goal does not justify the effort).
The majority of active squadrons participate solely on enthusiasm, but naturally players lose interest due to the lack of development (including rewards), which eventually leads to squadron disbandment.
- Bonuses to squadron vehicle progression for players participating in Squadron Battles
Explanation:
Currently, Squadron Battles provide no bonuses to squadron vehicle progression, which negatively affects player interest. There are several proposals regarding bonuses or a revision of how squadron points are earned overall.
A) Squadron vehicle progression only in squadrons that participate in Squadron Battles.
Experience for squadron vehicles should be awarded only for playing Squadron Battles (experience is granted after each battle, but multiplied by X compared to regular experience).
B) A bonus to squadron vehicle experience depending on the player’s personal squadron rating (PSR).
Each experience payout cycle grants squadron vehicle XP with a bonus, for example:
250–500 PSR: +25%
501–750 PSR: +50% (example)

- Revision of rewards in Squadron Battles, including rewards for squadron ranking placement
Explanation:
2.1. Player-level rewards are essentially nonexistent
This does not increase motivation to play Squadron Battles. Moreover, there are no progression advantages for players participating in SB.
Proposals:
A) Award standard boosters for participating in Squadron Battles.
There are many possible options:
boosters granted at the end of the season based on PSR,
or boosters granted to all participants for achieving certain win streaks (e.g., 3 wins, 6 wins, etc.).
B) Simply and significantly increase Silver Lion and experience rewards after each Squadron Battle.
This would make SB a viable Silver Lion farming mode, especially considering that there are only up to 8 targets per battle (and even then, not all may be destroyed).
2.2. Squadron-level rewards are currently very modest
Squadron Battles themselves do not provide meaningful advantages (the squadron vehicle points topic was covered above).
Even first place currently rewards only 30,000 Golden Eagles for 20 people.
Decals and squadron tag customization are not motivating and can be disregarded.
Proposals:
A) For the top 200 squadrons (at least), award a certain amount of Silver Lions to all players with PSR at the end of the season.
For example, 500,000 SL per player for 200th place, with higher rewards for better rankings.
B) Golden wagers.
Yes, we understand that developers need revenue, but it is possible to distribute, for example, 20 golden wagers per squadron, which the commander can then distribute among players.
C) Award chests.
Simply give chests that can be opened from the inventory. Rewards inside can be improved, which would increase motivation to participate in Squadron Battles.
- Granting mission points for the currently active marathon when playing Squadron Battles
Explanation:
During marathons, most players lose interest in Squadron Battles because they focus on marathon progression.
Squadron Battles do not grant marathon points. We propose enabling marathon progression from Squadron Battles with a certain multiplier (X), so that SB point gains are closer to those in RB.
This would increase player activity during marathon events.
Matchmaking Issues in Squadron Battles
- Matchmaking based on PSR in Squadron Battles
Explanation:
The current PSR-based matchmaking system for squadron lineups is outdated and has a major flaw:
If even one player in the lineup has a PSR of ≥1300, the squadron can be matched against a top 10 squadron (or at least top 50).
As a result, any squadron entering SB faces severe issues, leading to rating losses after defeats against top-tier squadrons.
Proposals:
A) Remove the 1300 PSR threshold entirely and base matchmaking on the squadron’s overall rating.
Matchmaking would work within a range, for example ±30% of the squadron’s current rating.
Example:
Squadron rating: 30,000
Opponents: 27,000–33,000
With longer queue times, the range would expand (e.g., after 1 minute: ±50%, etc.).
B) Introduce a league system (ranked tiers).
Replace the current top squadron system with leagues, for example:
Bronze I, II, III
Silver I, II, III
Gold I, II, etc.
Matchmaking would primarily occur within the same league, and only with longer queue times would squads from higher or lower leagues be matched.
Yes, this is not reinventing the wheel and is used in many other games—but there is hardly a better solution.
We fully understand that no system will be perfect and that some players will still be dissatisfied. However, these options are objectively better than the current system.
