Yes, it will perform horrible, at 11.0 is this plane just sitting duck. I think they will push the tornado down in BR after the tragic pre-sale results.

@Smin1080p I wish that I don’t disturb you on a sunday and that you take time during the week to answer this: Is there a discussion ongoing on integrating this Tornado at 11.3 with guided weaponry like the ASSTA1 or give it something special to make it unique? It is a Test-Tornado after all, so it could get a lot of wonky funky stuff that was experimented with on WTD61. I’d see this as a major opportunity and as a proper buy for me, if it offered more than just dumbbombs for 70€.

Let me see if I got it. (gaijin) introduced the German Panavia Tornados IDS into the game. incomplete, with British ARI radars, Incorrect number of countermeasures. without IFF system. although with the most powerful engines in the game, it is ridiculously and sadly easily achieved by any F-5. which although it has radar-guided missiles. and radar gunfire computer. According to gaijin, Tornadoes do not have radar (hypocrisy). It took almost 3 months to correct the absence of the Fly-by-Wire system where the aircraft kept breaking its wings, which even the hypocrite of “Smin1080p” ignored all the posts regarding this error,
The more modern versions “Marineflieger 1986 & assta1-1995” are completely destroyed and forgotten. simply targets in 11.0 are simply rubbish and now they are going to release a lower version? less technological? with less weapons? Slower ? How will this be possible? the plane is so destroyed and incomplete that “according to Gaijin it is the only 4th generation multifunctional aircraft that cannot identify friend or enemy and is only used to drop bombs and nothing else”. It is simply humanly impossible to damage the planes any further. and unfortunately I’m sure that the Gaijin team will be despicable and disgusting to the point of making the most modern models present in the game inferior to the prototypes… it will be a ridiculous and sad debut. showing incompetence and negligence towards players. where once again they will drag themselves through the mud. what was once a 4th generation fighter. and once again they will find a way to nerf the German nation. congratulations gaijin

Take a deep breath, i know the Tornado is dear to you. But we dont want to get you banned again. Hopefully we will see their plan with the premium in the 2nd dev server. If they dont do anything, just treat it like it doesnt exist, like it should

well thankfuly my german aviation tree is pretty much done and alraedy got the ASSTA 1 as well. So so it wouldnt have done anything of value for me either way
I have also completed the line. and after 12/5 years of playing this wonderful game. we already know. the fun will be short-lived, the suffering is guaranteed. hoping for improvement is optional.
That’s a bit of a sad thing isn’t it? That’s what makes me hesistant to buy this premium. If I get the ASSTA1, this premium loses its value… pretty much. The ASSTA1 outclasses it fully or meets it 1:1, by just 0.3 BR of a difference. So… considering the CAS role it is supposed to fulfil in GRB, the ASSTA1 becomes the only really valuable option in my eyes, as a dumbbomb rush isn’t really anything feasible with all the AA around.
Well thats the Case for every tech tree variant for the game. A-10Late is better then A-10 Early as well, same for Su-25K and Su-25.
Thing is the Premium Tornado job should be for people wanting to skip tech tree grind, to have a quick CAS option, whicht this realy isnt.
This realy only is a Basebomb grinder at 11.0, which is incredible boring at that br to be its only job, and even their it isnt particulary good at. At this point the Mig 21 Lazur propably is the better grinder and more fun.
Oh yeah there isnt a 11.0 Line up either which it could support, so you would take the Assta either way as well
Only option to make it at least a possible idea to get, is to give it AIM 9L(I)
The SU-25 and SU-25K only differ by the amount of flares. They are pretty much identical. And same goes for the Su-25T and SU-39. The A10s are at least pretty close - the only difference is that the late gets 4 9Ls instead of 2. But the early got 4 GBU-8s. Both got Mavericks. And I think you see where I am going with this - one of the deadliest attacker variants (Su-25T/Su-39) came in as a regular and a premium copy - a premium that is actually superior with the radar pod). I personally disagree with the idea of creating a premium at the 70€ mark that is not offering some utility and use for both ARB and GRB while being a capable platform in the right hands. The investment is high and for that you should get a machine you can get some mileage out of. I don’t really see premiums in WT as “grind skippers” as I cannot match it to the concept of lineups in the game. Premiums - when they are not meme machines - should cater to that idea. And most of them are. Especially the US and the soviet tree cater to this idea with their premiums and execute this concept well.
So that’s why I wish to ask why this Tornado cannot fulfil the same concept and bring a proper money making option to the German Tree, that is capable of CAS and bring even some gimmick like the first cluster bomb dispenser, the MW-1. And technically a bug report was forwarded that should give Tornados a ground radar mode too - a perfect time to implement this, in my opinion :)
I’m sorry to say but no. German IDS tornadoes are based on Nothing! (there is no
declassified documentation from MFG or assta1. simply the gaijim took the first manuals of the British Gr1 (1st generation of IDS) and applied it to the German tornadoes. and Fuck historical coherence as always! then you have exactly the Tornado Marineflieger. the 4th variant of the IDS tornado. that is represented in the game. with 50x frares and chaffs in place of the original 500x. with British Ari ground radar. (look at the hypocrisy. Germany produces gepard and since ww2 it has been independent in the production of radars, for what sick reasons would tornadoes have British radars?) but devs and gaijin in general don’t care about historical context. or reality the important thing is to change the skin. changes the BR to make money.

Because britain and germany developed the Tornado together? I mean the Typhoon has the same radar for both nations as well. If you know it better tell us or make a bug report with which radar the german IDS uses.
But currently you are just agitating yourself again and will get yourself banned once again.

they designed the aircraft together. but the avionics and configuration are completely different*German IDS** as generally described previously. Luftwaffe force now includes ex-naval aircraft. Mid-Life Update is underway under (“Neue Avionsstruktur"), with improvements including a new 8-megabyte computer (see avionics) with Ada software, MIL-STD-1760 databus, integrated laser inertial navigation/GPS, FLIR, defensive aids computer, missile warner, improved radar warning system, and displays. To include a new reconnaissance role with a podded day/night sensor package with 2 optical cameras and infra-red line-scanner for 40 aircraft. The remaining Navy force is operated for missions against ship (with Kormoran missiles) and land targets, plus reconnaissance using pods.
- Italian IDS force is being upgraded with the German lDSs.
- ECR is the dedicated electronic combat and reconnaissance version. Suite of reconnaissance and EW equipment is housed in the front fuselage, displacing the guns and ammunition. Threat radar emitter located in the wing root, infra-red imaging linescan, ODIN operational data link (air-to-air and air-to-ground), FLIR and HARM missiles. 35 received by the Luftwaffe, and 16 produced for Italy as IDS conversions.[5
As nice as that is, simple thing is. A lot of thar just is irrelevant for the game, not yet implemented. And it doesnt mean that they dont have the same radar.
If you don’t understand, I’ll explain. The only thing that has changed in these Tormado updates. were its RWR/L and navigation and data transmission avionics… its radars did not change. remain the same by default… both IDS and ECR.
There isn’t a single premium in the game worth 70€…
