Would probably be more interested if they fixed it’s fire rate.
It’s alright at 11.3 arguably with the ammo preformance more of an 11.0 or 10.7 but that’s just my opinion. But you can still get some cheeky kills with it at 11.3.

omg, i just saw in the dev stream, rdf/lt will have 60 ammo… that alone makes it so much more better and is in the dev server at the same br like hstv-l with 26… thank you gaijin, making the unusable low ammo tank a tt and the usable version a premium…

It’s purposely wrong for balance.
It isn’t though, cause the reload could be buffed and the tank itself wouldn’t be buffed since it doesn’t face heavily armored vehicles with a faster fire rate to begin with.
First shot dictates the engagement as well.
We are talking about 2 different outcomes of the HSTV-L. 1 when it is artificially nerfed. How it is now. Vs what is an accurate model and it possibly going up to 11.7 maybe 12.0

I cant help but think a worse HSTVL isn’t a good fit for a premium and the USSR doesn’t need another BMP especially as a premium

There’s a few BR gaps for the Soviet light vehicles (not counting the Spruts) but this doesn’t fill a gap at 9.3.
Russia could use more light tanks in the TT, the highest one is 10.0, and the highest IFV is 9.0.
the 2s38 covers up to top tier incredibly well with how good it is at map traversal, tank destroying and basic SPAA duties which does make the need for more not quite as serious. A lack of light tanks is a real plague for a few nations at the moment. Seems to be getting rectified slowly at least, even if its only in premiums

Well, I wouldn’t be complaining about the BMD-4M being a premium if I was willing to buy more premiums in the first place.
The issue is that the best light tank is locked behind a paywall and Gaijin refuses to add anything for the Russian TT, even when good candidates arrive, such as the BMD-4M.

theres an unmanned turret variant of the RDF/LT that apparently could deploy stinger pods. I hope, like really really hope, that gaijin does the right thing and puts this version in the tech tree…

The XM274 was set to fire 1 round a second on the HSTV-L. It was capable of 2 round a second but the fcs could not keep up with that rate of fire so the had it set to 1 per second.

why u think the RDF will be worse? Alone that it has 60 ammo will make it better then the hstvl
Faster reload at the cost of almost everything else valuable.

Well, HSTV suffers from only 26 shots, RDF will not.
Therefore RDF can also carry a few HE-VT and still have some Darts, resulting in much more utility and also much longer staying in a fight usefull.
HSTV is empty after like the 3th-4th engagement due to the lack of damage of thr 75mm. RDF will almost tripple the time you can stay active.
In other words, HSTV is just not really reasonably usable while RDF will be, comparet to MBTs as alternative.
Or in easy: If you want to play a tank with a fast firing maingun in USA, Lighttank style like puma,namer,2s38,BMD and so on, u have to buy the RDF, its the only valit option USA has at that BR (or will have soon)
