Now the vehicle is ready and will be available in your hangars in the upcoming major War Thunder update. Using the PLZ45 in battle
Let’s briefly recap what we discussed last time. The PLZ45 is a modern SPG equipped with a long-barreled 155 mm howitzer. It fires semi-armor-piercing shells, standard high-explosive rounds, and an HE shell with a proximity fuze. It lacks a laser rangefinder, so the PLZ45 demands solid gunnery skills and an understanding of enemy armor weak spots. However, a well-placed hit can inflict catastrophic damage or send the enemy straight back to the hangar!
Developer comment: The premium PLZ45 is an interesting (though not essential) option for progressing through the higher ranks of Chinese armored vehicles. It occupies a middle ground between the PLZ83 and PLZ05 SPGs: its gun offers better ballistics than the former, while its reload speed is slower than the latter. In the game, the PLZ45 will be China’s first premium SPG and will fit nicely into several vehicle lineups spanning Ranks IV and V.

i dont think you should be concerned, nobody sane would ever buy this vehicle. its a shame how many unique vehicles they couldve added to china but they add this instead
The SPG slop spam needs to slow down. They really shouldn’t have ever been added. Completely ruin the armour meta around 6.7 and every single one is undertiered
You know… im gonna say it. It was a mistake to do those WIP dev blogs because now we had multiple vehicle dev blogs that were a waste of time, honestly. Its actually more boring than when we had people leaking the whole update’s content.
Disagree, it’s alright. Game is based on constant expansion.
Disagree, they need to aim to bypass armour; that is no different to aiming for weak spots with APHE in order to bypass armour. You can kill a T29 from the front with a PAK Puma if you fire at the MG port, does that ruin the armour meta? Way I see it, “armour meta” is when you need to know weak spots and have accurate aim, while at some BRs most enemies can just point and click on each other.
Evidently they’re not. They keep getting reload buffs and lower BRs because for the most part they don’t fit the meta that well.
Agreed that the spam should slow down. I wouldn’t call this vehicle slop. It looks very well done and is not being copied into five trees. That said, they waited a long time to add these and now they’re adding them en masse to milk the untapped niche, and it’s starting to get a bit samey ngl. This, and the spam of Bushmaster IFVs.
I understand this is the era of support vehicle additions, but yeah. More variety would be better.
If they’re going to pay wall stuff, I’d much rather it be SPGs that vary slightly from domestic TT variants, rather than unique designs and capabilities
Best bet is still vismod premiums (puma biene, trash puma, clickbait, etc) , but this is far more preferable than stuff like the AMX-M24, TURM III, RU-251, etc
