Pre-Order: F-14D Super Tomcat

Yes and many have been removed cause they break the rules. So we bend the knee for certain ones but others no?

Why can’t the HSTV-L have it’s upgraded gun? It didn’t enter service and was planned to be added.

Oh right different rules on a choice and a whim.

The removed vehicles aren’t unfinished prototypes, they simply didn’t exist.

The R2Y2s in game were fictional. The Tiger 10.5 was literally impossible because of the turret. The Panther II and Coelian were wooden mockups.

Not sure. I don’t think there’s been an official response on that. I assume its because the upgraded gun would replace the gun it has, while the Yak-141’s equipment in game doesn’t replace equipment it had IRL.

Either way, we’re getting off topic. If you can prove the AIM-54C+ is compatible, you can report it.

The AIM54 thing has already been accepted we are kinda waiting for a response of some sort.

You will be surprised to find out the number of times the documents and websites often got very wrong on such simple things.

Again, no. As far as the historical documents I have with me, all have referred to the AIM-54C+ as the latest Phoenix used by the F-14D, which was the one that has ECCM/Sealed.

Besides, I have sources beyond 2004, the year the chronology was published by the navy(dot)mil, that said the same thing. The AIM-54C+ is the AIM-54C ECCM/Sealed used by the F-14D. Simple as.

You have not provided reliable sources.

Another thing to point out is that armament is a balancing choice based on reality. If it is missing armament, even if you can prove it, it is passed as an internal suggestion rather than a bug/historical report. This can be seen in game on the MiG-29s that didn’t receive R-73s since it would push up its BR, hence why there was a seperate MiG-29 added.

yeah that makes sense, I think this one has everyone tilted because it is almost a copy and paste B and if its the same BR with its better systems it seems pay to win.

I didn’t know the F-16AJ was real. Let me go back and rewrite history.

The reports have been made multiple times and they get denied you can see them all in the F-14D weapons topic.

I understand the frustration, don’t worry.

You understand what we mean when we accuse gaijin of ‘goalpost moving’ right?

The 16AJ was real it was a demo to try and sell 16s to Japan

Panther II was impossible to build aswell. 88 breach would be too large to fit in the turret.

Coelian situation is still unfair tho since it was partially built and used existing and functional components which is funny because what we got as replacement in game isnt exactly historical either.

AIM-120A was never fitted to the F-14D, and intergration was cancelled.

F-14D Could NOT use AIM-120A

You can see with your own eyes that the names are different.
AIM-54C ECCM/Sealed is 54C ECCM
AIM-54C+ High Power Phoenix is AIM-54C+

It could with a software update, navy chose to spend money on lantirn

It wasn’t. The YF-16A was proposed to Japan, however it never came to fruition. It was not planned to be a Block 10, it couldn’t even fire the Sparrows as far as I’m aware. The F-16AJ in game was never proposed either, since it lost to the Agile Falcon (?) which became the F-2. The F-16AJ in game is entirely fictional.

It was fitted to a very specific F-14A the F-14A with all the system upgrades for the F-14D sometimes refered to as the first 14D but not a 14D.

F-16AJ itself was real as a concept but the F-16AJ we got in game is completely fictional and not true to offered concept specification.

Im pretty sure The modern radar in the D model only required a software update and then of course the mounting would have to be compatible.

I have provided a reliable source with more authority describing AIM-54C ECCM/Sealed as part of the AIM-54C+ incremental development. My secondary sources and books with more recent publication years backed this up.

You have not provided reliable sources that do not back up the navy(dot)mil’s chronology. It can be wrong, or it can get things mixed, or simplify things.

Try again and talk to me again when you have reliable sources.

From everywhere I read the thing required was a software upgrade yes. Don’t know why that is what killed the budget but Cheney had a thing against Grumman but let’s not go down that.
