Pre-Order: F-14D Super Tomcat

… sounds almost like a veiled threat to punish the combined player base by making a less favorable decision (from given player feedback) as a means to get back at those who made hateful comments on reddit and other platforms.

Perhaps this isn’t the intent behind this remark - if not… might want to edit that because at face value it reads very much like a punitive promise.

I mean given the tone of the rest of the convo?

Make your guess, you can try three times.

There are no threats being made or intents to “punish” anyone.

What im saying is two factors

  1. Naturally after following feedback and making a change, we still then follow the reaction to that to see if it was the correct decision or not. If there is a more negative response to the change than positive, then this does go into future consideration.

  2. The remarks and insults made by some who have taken to other platforms, including from some here who originally asked for a TT F-14D alongside the premium, concerning vulgar insults, are not acceptable.

So, when can we expect an apology from Grom?

When we’re getting a free Abrams from Shaun. (Elite ball knowledge required)

I hope there won’t be one. He did what he was told.

Grom is a developer, not just a CM. He stated there were no plans to add it, which earned the community’s trust, but that statement ended up misleading the players.

He is the store manager with a misplaced developer tag afaik, nothing more.

Grom is a memeber of the Store Team, not a developer. We dont have a tag for that on the forum.

lmao

I’m not going to let my honesty run wild here, but you know what I will say instead. :)

Then the answer is simple. If Grom was merely following orders and passing along information, then Gaijin needs to step up and apologize to the players.

Except Grom literally has “Developer” right next to his name, and he even explicitly said “I am the dev team.”

Trying to argue about his role now does not change the fact that someone with “Developer” on his profile officially said there were no plans. Players trusted that word and spent their money, so Gaijin’s responsibility for the outcome remains unchanged.

It’s time and time again the same issue. Lack of proper communication. They have bettered themselves in the last years but they are still far from perfect.

I would guess something about holding my breath on that issue and my imminent mortality if I do.

Yes, indeed. I just think that beating them over the head when they do back track an try to course correct sends the wrong message.
I think they put themselves in a bad position, but are making a good move in correcting it.
Yes some people will be upset, that’s inevitable, I just hope they learn to not make the same wrong turn, rather then learning to not correct it in the future.

The response in this screenshot is with regards to console transfers. For which he is part of that dev team.

So is that it? I appreciate the clarification on that, but the question of responsibility still stands.

I too would have preferred the TT F-14D to launch alongside the premium, but at the same time I think we should be happy that we’re getting our wish fulfilled.

Nobody was forced to buy anything. In fact the F-14D is my favorite aircraft IRL and I held off on buying it out of principle because I thought it should be TT. In fact, now I may even pick it up next sale because of the premium bonuses and the show of good will.

This move was by popular demand and we shouldn’t give the snail flak for listening, it would be another of these “damned if you do, damned if you don’t”

While we’re at it, @Smin1080p_WT it would certainly be a nice change for the whole dev team, not just you specifically, to stop referring to a lot of these premiums as “sidegrades” and instead as upgrades ( which clearly is what is being sold).
Why? The F-14D, when announced, was still an objective upgrade over the tech tree F-14B and examples like these extend further to things like the F-4S and F-4J Phantom where the F-4S is also an objectively better performing aircraft. Those are just two examples, there are many more.
So, could these simple objective mistakes be corrected or is lying ( in a lot of people’s eyes, mine included) going to keep being a reality?

No but technically I was tricked into believing their wouldn’t be a tech tree version and some of us expected it to be a f14D(r) with different armaments at least at a different br

They’re being damned not because they added the F-14D to the tech tree, they’re being damned because they could’ve done it like the JA37Di scenario where a TT AND premium were launched at the same time, they simply chose not to, screwed with people who think they are getting an exclusive, and now they aren’t.
