If gaijin would be logical since the Iranian gets to keep the r27 (which it never fired) the D and b should have the 7p
P without datalink :=
IOG would still be a nice feature especially with how wonky F-14B’s radar is
you can already relock with the AIM-7M really, only the IOG could be useful, but let’s see what Gaijin comes up with.
Well thats kinda what I said. IOG would be a nice feature since Sparrows tend to miss their targets after re-acquiring. IOG could help with precise missile positioning when the lock is lost.
To be fair i don’t know if the 7M in game is an M or acts more like a 7P Block 1 .
7P Block 1 didn’t have DL anyway.
The only thing that they have wrong is the lofting (it should loft) and sea skimming capability (because the game sets the limit at 60m anyway…)
They skipped the AIM-7MH, which is the first AIM-7 with a lofting mechanism. (
But for some reason the f14a gets r27 with
Yes, so what? The R-27R is terrible. Its only real advantage is the data link it has a short range and a short burn time. The AIM-7M is better in every respect apart from having a data link and IOG.
It’s not historical, it never could fire it especially with dl, it’s the same reasoning they use for the f14d/b
Do you lot still go on about the history? I’ve already told you, this game has a realistic flavour, it tries to be realistic but it’s still just a game. For them, the fact that there’s an image of the missile on the pylon is enough, but the missile is also useless, so
“Realistic flavour but it only benefits some, and punishes others”
well balance reasons
Well yes, im just saying mister cofcof is silly
Now we’re getting into the part that’s a game, and for the purposes of balance, they don’t want the F-14 to have the AIM-120. Stop trying to find a logical explanation for everything a game does some things just won’t make sense.
This guy cant be real 💀
What’s the purpose of having somewhat “realistic vehicles” if there is no logical explanation behind their performance
I didn’t see that when the F-14 was first launched, when no country had the Fox-3 and the F-14 was up against the MiG-23 :=
Because game balance doesn’t follow the logic of realism otherwise, we’d already have the R-37M, R-74M, Mica-IR, AIM-9X, Meteor and other missiles, and we’d have Brimstones with MMW and cruise missiles everywhere, but we don’t because game balance sets limits on armament, and sometimes these limitations may not have an obvious or easily judged reason.
Yeah, but everything else acts like 7P Block 1 anyway… Or MH. You wouldn’t tell the difference in game.
Only the lofting misses and …i don’t really find the reason why.
Also, i see 2 reasons why 54 in game won’t go much faster.
Firstly 54C and C+ loft half as they should. I don’t know about A, the other 2 i’m sure of it. At least if statshark is correct. And it seems to have 2 flight profiles depending on altitude.
EDIT: i was wrong on the above. You just need to shoot it from like 18km alt and mach 1,8-2. it does the lofting it should. In statshark at least.
But then the drag still stands. The missile goes around mach 4 , not even 5 no matter the situation.
Then… Drag. Going downwards with engine on should hit 5s…here stucks around 4. And with the changes in thrust, i do believe they will fix something with drag if they statcard it 5,7 mach.
Statcards are usually situationally correct or close to correct. This 1 is nearly 2 mach out…!!! And they changed it , while they could have kept the live ones (which again were wrong but ok) .
Probably they will toy with it before change it , because it’s a bit serious…it can affect range as well.
G-Overload change alone , makes them way better than on live though. And pretty sidegrading with F90. You’ll hit shots that f90 will just fail, faster or not.
It’s the first time i feel a bit optimistic about the thing.
