They mean the ultimate version of the F-14, not the best plane in the nation. You are locking what SHOULD be the best version of the F-14 behind a pay wall, not to mention absolutely gutting it’s capabilities. Their is no better version of the F-14 that could possibly be added to the TT, unless you plane on adding a paper version like the “Quickstrike”.
Or make the 2005 “Rover III” variant for the TT.

We use loadouts as balance factor since years, you should know that, you are with us since few years already :)
If vehicle needs to be balanced, it can be done straight, by BR change or, for example by adding additional weapon (if possible for specific airframe). Game Designers decided to implement F-14D with same loadout as F-14B, if that would not be enough, I guess it can change in the future (it’s not a promise or hint, just explanation how it looks in WT).

Guys, EVERY TIME you post ANY military documents, you HAVE TO provide proof of declassification. Finding things on google doesn’t mean it’s safe to post and even if it is safe to post you STILL have to provide proof of declassification together with the post.

I’ll just leave my commentary off at this: the work is appreciated for this thing, and it not coming with AMRAAMs was predictable, but the player response over the copy-paste loadout is also justified and predictable as well, I can bet the devs had exhaustive internal discussions over this thing because of the anticipation around it, and they will probably discuss it again before the final product becomes available, probably in part because of the dissatisfaction displayed here.

Imagine waiting years for the definitive F-14D just for Gaijin to turn it into a premium cash-grab, completely neutered and missing the exact features that actually set it apart. Now we’re stuck eating shit with another Tomcat locked to Aim-9Ls, Aim-7Ms, and the same old Phoenixes. No AMRAAMs, no 9Ms, no 7Ps.
There’s absolutely no reason to get the F-14D when it’s basically an F-14B with a better radar and worse than every F-18 out there.
Bravo Gaijin, congrats on ruining the best Tomcat and completely mess it up. 🤡

This part isn’t true. It was designed to be capable at first, but was later abandoned because it didn’t fit the role the navy wanted for the price. So you are correct it never used them. (However some f14as did in fact fire the aim120s in testing)
How any of that stops it from being a premium? The only rule we have is that it can’t be of highest BR for this class of vehicles in the game.

You are missing the point. You want EIGHTY DOLLARS for a vehicle you designed WRONG, and didn’t implement its HISTORICAL LOAD OUT.
Like you legitimately just copied the f14B, gave it a different radar, and called it a day. That doesn’t deserve anything.
