Fair, you would have a subset of dedicated naval players who will shell out just to have the Nelson in their Pokédex. I’ll wait til it eventually becomes part of the 50% off sales.
I’m afraid that someone may be me XD next pay day I might have to pull on the Nelson… (Please for the love of Horatio Nelson include something else in the pack like a KGV), already have the Gneisenau, that’ll be $300 in two ship pre orders within the same year… crazy
3000 GE (£15) + 30 days of premium (£8 ish) + one epic portrait pic almost makes the pre-order worth it.
But yeah, still too much for what is largely the same ship as we have on the TT.
$40 worth of GE/premium time + a profile picture if we say is $10, I don’t see how the ship itself would be worth $100 (45 pounds ish) also sorry for doing the conversions in my head I couldn’t be bothered searching up NZD - GBP
Yeah. Its £65. So remove the bonuses. Its about £30 still, which isnt too bad, but still hard to justify for a ship i’ve basically already got
So about 70-80 NZD
Yeah no that’s not the greatest, especially since I’m guessing you already have most of if not all of the UK tree unlocked, and I was just going off of the $150 I paid for the Gneisenau lol, the NZ dollar has changed a bit since then
I have all the Bluewater tree unlocked and a Talisman on Rodney.
Basically it would be bonuses + an alternative SL printer to Belfast
So essentially if Horatio Nelson is worth 65 quid you’ll buy it
If i had the spare cash at the moment. I would have considered it for all the bonus stuff and another SL printer. But I dont unfortuantely. So its one profile pic that I wont be able to get. Unless I shift some bits around. But Would need to see if this update adds anything first
I don’t personally know if it’s worth it or not. I don’t suppose anyone knows when the pre-orders will end? Also I don’t know how those 16 inch cannons hold up
No idea, but not until the update drops I think. So it can all be tried out on the dev server
Rodney was really good, but now struggles a bit in the uptiers.
As with everything - it is great when it is top of the BR, not so flash against anything 8.7
Jeez - I’m in 6 figures and no way I’m paying that much!!
$135.18 as of right now + credit card fees which will likely make it NZ$140 - for that much I want a whole game, not just 1 ship - I spent more than that buying the whole Combat Mission series on sale at Steam for example!!
I see, so it’s good enough
Yeah, well I’m a student so I don’t really have anything to spend my money on, I usually just save most of it so I have some to spare. It’s better than spending it on junk food. Though tbf I’m heading up to Auckland for the Sabaton concert so I shoulddd keep it for that journey but pfffft
Yeah it’s a hell of a lot, and I was hoping it would be a KGV or something but I’ll deal with this I suppose…
In Aussie dollars, these pre-order packs cost more than full games. I can get Elden Ring and its DLC for the same price from Steam, and cheaper elsewhere. I can preorder Battlefield 6 for cheaper. Though, I honestly wouldn’t mind if it was something I would get full use out of - but my track record is full of premiums I’ve purchased and then hardly used. As much as I find the Nelson interesting, it would probably be the same.
I gotta say, had it been a KGV, I would probably have indulged myself even despite the excessive price tag.
But… I can’t do it for a 37 second full+expert reload xD. But that’s a personal preference matter, I guess.
Don’t ask for unrealistic increases in reload. If the ship didn’t reload that fast, it couldn’t. And they are 16inch guns, not 12inch.
Mmmm…
Sovetsky Soyuz?
Only it couldn’t shoot or reload, it couldn’t even swim! Because it hadn’t even been launched!
Is that different?
It is different, as the guns had been made. You can easily with sources provided by the test guns being fired on mounts, extrapolate a reasonable peak reload time which is what war thunder uses (the most optimum performances of engineering machinery).
Looking at a real ship, and saying hey the realistic number is far too low for it to be as fun as I want it to, can you make it really really low compared to irl as if they had auto-loaders…is a massive difference.
Casting one cannon is not enough. On modern ships with artillery mounts, the rate of fire of cannons is determined not only by the cannon itself, but also by the shell feed system, elevators. This is not a galleon, where some stock of cannonballs and gunpowder lies right on the gun deck, and the rate of fire is determined only by the skills of the gunners and the capabilities of the cannon. And not Sea of Thieves, where you can carry a supply of cannonballs in your inventory. No.
For some reason, this game claims selective realism, giving someone a paper rate of fire, and someone - a rate of fire taking into account the lack of skill of the pre-war crew (Roma).
So either give everyone uniform fictitious standards for determining performance characteristics, or let the Soyuz not be able to shoot at all… And let them aim by eye without any sights. And it doesn’t need to swim at all.
Otherwise, why do real performance characteristics serve as a basis for nerfing? Why do the real-life Roma and Richelieu have worse accuracy than Stalin’s paper fantasy, if our accuracy is determined by the perfection of the fire control equipment, huh?
There are primary docs for Rodney/Nelson having a 30 second reload and not 35.
The Devs response: “we feel its good enough already”
Likewise all British 15" guns should have a 25 second reload not 30 but we got much the same response.
In contrast, Gnes and Sevesastpol could only achieve a 70 ish second reload IRL due to the lack of any power assistance for the loading due to size and weight constraints. Both have 22.7 second reloads based upon BIsmark with power assisted loading
