No, we have sources for Renown and Warspite having HE-VT. Just so far its been denied for I guess “balancing reasons” even though 4 US BBs have them.
You missed the joke there, that was a jab at Gneisenau getting a proposed upgrade vs actual equipment that was historically used.
Oh right, yeah missed that :D
All good , anyway this poor Aussie colonial needs to go get his beauty sleep, lord knows he needs it, have a good one mate.
Night
Gaijin has explained more times that I can count since 2016 that ships have a different criteria than air and land vehicles when it comes to partially constructed vehicles and why.
While irl one bomb hit and two splashes next to her put the ship out of service for half a year. Even after reprairs in Rosyth she was done and had to be operated with reduced capacity: Maxspeed 15 knots and X turret most likely not operational. The only reason she wasn’t declared total loss was to maintain her as important symbol and to do shore bombardment. Never beeing fleet capable anymore.
Conversion had just started when she was scrapped, and if she wasn’t it would have been completed
It’s not the first one to be like this, Conte di Cavour has a refit that wasn’t finished
and ships like RN Francesco Caraccio, SMS Sachsen, Ersatz Yorck, Izmail, Kronshtadt, Shcherbakov, Amagi were never built, or only laid down
Sachsen in 1916. Unlike some of the other projects it was almost finished. Already christened , launched and most crititcal systems installed. Political reasons delayed comission until the war ended (More submarines instead BB etc.)
all they did was take guns off
the russians never had the guns for them so they should get normal 12 inches same as kronshdaht
Especially since the guns would have had to be delivered by Ru’s arch enemy. Absolutely unlikely to ever have had happened. Even impossible to imagine Germany would have delivered these 38cm guns.
Its the biggest stretch in any war-related computer game, ever. Thats a true Gajin.
fair cop, i just remembered only 2 Bayerns were put into service to imagined the rest were on slipways still
And that after binning basically half the german destroyer force at narvik and embarassing the italian navy at calabria and matapan.
Oh and care to mention those bombs earlier destroyed the Battleship Roma and severly crippled the cruiser USS Savannah. I know you didnt mention their name, likley since they were so ineffective and had increadibly high attrition rate with KG 3 suffering 60% losses in September 1943 alone IRL. With Warspite only suffering 9 killed 14 wounded during the attack
You forgot to mentioned the very ship that being relevant to this thread, Gneisenau, which was doomed by a single bomb sealing her fate to never be sailing as a warship again :D
the 15inch guns they never got them it should not be premium no premium should be better than techtree
The rules for naval are very publicly different to those in other modes. Ships construction and development is a much longer and drawn out process. I think this rule is a positive for many smaller nations in game.
The issue here is how glaringly OP scharnhorst klasse ships are even despite the damage rework now they’re very strong maybe not OP if you can pen then. I do agree with your point just not your analysis.
This also isn’t @HK_Reporter ’s choice he is just providing valuable insight into the mechanics and workings of Naval. Him and @Magiaconatus are some of the few naval orientated mods so best to value their insight.
We do have the historical version of Gneisenau on CDK from 2021:
Hopefully this one will also get implemented someday
what should have came :)
Would be good to see them reverse the one ship one refit rule and how ships can only appear in one TT.
Would benefit Italy a lot with Guilio Cesare particularly
