Pre-order: Battleship Gneisenau and Battlecruiser Sevastopol

The 38cm shell you posted is the WW1 APC, whereas the SK C/34 fires a modern APC which penetration roughly equals to Rodney’s 16". Right now Scharnhorst is already facing problems where its gun can’t penetrate some decently armoured ships when they are properly angled, such as Rodney, Hood, Amagi etc, even at very close range. The upgrade to 38cm SK C/34 is certainly going to give much more trouble to the listed ships than the 28cm.

Although, I was a bit disappointed that she doesn’t come in her historical outfit… She has several visual features that distinguish her from Scharnhorst and it will be interesting to see them operate together in the game as they historically did.

Oh god, Scharnhorst was enough of a menace to deal with when encountered, a premium scharnhorst will be spammed to death and this one has teeth

Im going to have to learn exactly where to aim with Rodney and Vanguard otherwise these will just steam roll every single match.

Thankfully I never played Naval and most likely never will.
My interest in wasting time on EOL products is around zero.

Have the damage model changes have any effect on scharnhorst survivability? Your railgun experiment 2 years ago makes it seem like the gneis is going to have an extremely damaging effect on the “health” of war thunder naval.

The update to fire damage from ammo elevators implemented in April had already greatly reduced Scharnhorst’s survivability, now you can even see people complaining Scharnhorst is too easy to explode :)

That’s true, I’m mixing my turrets up again

What are you talking about? I have yet to get ammoracked via fire damage in Scharnhorst even after the fire damage buff. If you prioritize fire damage control, then Scharnhorst still remains practically immortal.

On the other hand, the fire damage buff actually made bots far easier to kill (since they performed damage control very poorly), which means players are more incentivized to farm the bots than actually engaging in battle.

Is this some sort of out of season April Fool’s joke?

No, just milking dying mode one last time.

Then you must be extremely lucky. The time for fire to spread into magazine is depending on where the fire initiates, and if it initiates at the lower part of the barbette, the fire can detonate the magazine in just 2 or 3 seconds, so even if you focus on damage control it won’t save you whatsoever. I usually aim for the first and rear turrets of Scharnhorst, where the elevators are shorter and the average time for fire to detonate their magazine is 8-10 sec, remember the minimum time to put out fire with max crew is 9sec so in many cases they will explode whatever their players do.

Besides, even without fire damage, you can detonate Scharnhorst’s magazine via cumulative splinter damage with multiple penetrations of one barbette.

$142 NZD for one pack? You’ve got to be joking with these prices Gaijin.

Maybe the absurd price means that It wont get spammed so damn much like the USS Helena was.

$80? Surely a naval rework is in the works. Surely no one is asking $80 for a ship to fight bots due to lack of entertainment for most people.

These will print loads of tons of money unless they are directly sent to 8.0, just like they deserve.

No chance of them getting scratched by any 6.0 cruiser or early ww1 battleship

80 euros…

The major issue is that players will buy those, like they bought those insanely expensive premiums…

Gaijin, it’s time to rework your price, even 20euros a vehicle is very expensive you know, I think you can rework price like this, and still earn money :

Rank I : 5 euro
Rank II : 10 euros
Rank III : 15 euros
Rank IV : 20 euros
Rank V : 25 euros
Rank VI : 30 euros
Rank VII : 35 euros
Rank VIII : 40 euros

You fix naval AB, and you expect me to support $80 ships?
I like that naval AB’s fixed, not enough to support $80 ships.

I get they’re more expensive to make than aircraft and tanks… but come on.

Whats even more insane with naval is the fact that a 3.7 coastal premium costs 24x more than 3.7 bluewater premium that is also probably stronger and will probably face each other

HMS Whitby = 6090GE with 1x twin 4.5inch
HMS Verdun = 250GE with 2x twin 4inch

Being one of the few naval players, I find this extremely disappointing. Not only is it expensive, but you’re basically putting a Sharnhorst on steroids behind a paywall.
