Potential Chinese Ground Force Additions

Most likely
Newest Chinese armored vehicles (starting from ZTQ-15) have all utilized a bustle autoloader, this is also true for ZLT-17 (assault gun variant of ZBL-19), and that supposed next-generation MBT demonstrator thing. Export vehicles like VA-1 have even begun to use a bustle autoloader for its 125mm gun (so China probably developed single-piece 125mm shell).

it’s not bustle autoloader, should be more like AGS or OBJ.477, ammos hide in hull. bustle autoloader is a exposed weakpoint for tanks, but for light vehicles, they don’t have much protection anyway

Does anyone have any details about this? I tried my best to identify some of its armaments.

Here is some info and more pictures about that variant with 30mm autocannon:

Currently, China has the vast majority of vehicles at tier 5 and below that are practically identical or slightly modified vehicles from other tech trees. The various Type 70/85 variants would be very suitable for Gaijin in terms of implementation and it would reduce the problem of lack of original vehicles on those tiers. Practically minimal amount of work as this type of chassis is already in game and it would improve the quality of the Chinese TT at lower tiers. There are currently about 6 variants (maybe I forgot some) that can be added, some of which can be in the tech tree and others as premium/event.

There’s also the YW306 with 130 mm rockets and the YW323 with a 122 mm howitzer.

On the same chassis, there were also prototypes with a ZTS63A 105 mm turret, and a SW1 turret with a 30 mm and HJ-8 missiles (like on the ZDF89 you showed).

I could find little, the only information being that this photo was taken during a live ammunition exercise on September 25th 2004, at a training base in the Henan province, and carried out by a mechanized infantry division training for mountain warfare.

NCSIST is currently upgrading the M60A3 TTS. Personally, I think they have added some components, which are likely related to fire control.

The smoke grenade launchers have been moved backward, and additional external attachments resembling ceramic composite armor have been added.

New Chinese event vehicle equivalent to the M60 AMBT? I do love M60s and it would be pretty neat, I’m not sure whether it has a place in the researchable part of the TT unfortunately.

Does it have a place in the game though? Absolutely

Looks like new armor layout in the front, an A/C, kept the 105mm gun, and added some FCS stuff.

I’m not sure, but it might not be as good as the AMBT because the gun caliber seems to remain at 105mm. As an event vehicle, it might be possible, but for the final production version, it would be more appropriate to place it in the tech tree. The possibility of the Cloud Leopard II M2 prototype being an event vehicle is higher. Additionally, the tech tree could add a regular version of the CM11 because the version in War Thunder is a prototype that was abandoned due to the torsion bar not being able to withstand the pressure. Some Taiwanese players also don’t like playing with vehicles from the Chinese Communist Party tech tree, so it could be added as a modified version of the existing CM11 before it and be folded.

Exactly. Any prototype of it can be an event vehicle but seeing how this will be an upgraded M60 that will be in standard usage with the ROCA, the final version should be a tech tree vehicle either following or at the same level as the CM11. It should also receive a new engine/transmission (~1,000hp) which should make it a lot more maneuverable. If it also gets a new turret drive that’s faster, this could be a solid vehicle. We’re so far looking at:

  • Still a 105mm platform, though could receive a more modern version of the gun or maybe upgunned to 120mm in the future.
  • New turret composite armor (maybe hull armor too pending more images and design finalization).
  • New structural mounts on the turret (likely for that A/C and stowage).
  • ~1000hp engine and new automatic transmission.
  • New FCS gear which could include better thermals for all stations.

They must have done some structural/suspension changes too for accommodating the weight increase. If confirmed, there could be a LOT more done with this vehicle, especially the reintroduction of ERA and more armaments.

This 105mm gun looks a lot like the gun found in the M1 Abrams.

That’s because it is if I remember correctly, the CM-11 has the original M1 fire-control system and also the same gun, M68A1.
