No evidence to suggest the helicopter was modified. The idea is that its a drop in installation like adding a weapon. At worst the ah1z needed a software update which iirc thr ah1z always had the software to use the longbow radar. Theres honestly no good reason to make a seperate heli from the current ah1z.

16 JAGM-MR, AIM-9X, and LDIRCM would be nice
Don’t forget that AH-1Z should be able to mount AIM-9s on every pylon, reported 5 years ago and STILL not implemented.

Even lofting manually it works barely better but still pretty useless since anything past 1km wont have enough airspeed to fly correctly
at that point just use regular SALH hellfires
If gaijin fixed the maverick fm i bet it would be a pretty decent missile under 5km but i dont see gaijin doing that…
I also wonder if theres ever been any footage of it being fired from an apache?
we know it was at least mounted but im not aware of anything past that maybe if footage exists we could use that as a source towards its fm issues

there is no reason why the ah1z cant get aim9x when TY-90 exists.
aim9x is at most 2 free kills, ty90 is a no fly zone enforced by heli

you’re grinding 410,000 RP and another 300,000 in PvE jail to finally be vaguely competitive
at least the 28NM and Z-10ME are getting their missiles as a mod :DD
I find it a bit funny considering AH1z was the very first aircraft to achieve IOC with JAGM
And on it’s wikipedia page the only photos of it mounted and firing are on/from AH-1Z
by that I don’t mean other helis shouldn’t have it, it’s just funny that AH-1Z is being passed over despite it being commonly seen with the missile
Yeah iirc ah64 did hit IOC with JAGM but there isnt any pictures of it. Its strage but that doesnt mean ah64e shouldnt get them.

As i said elsewhere before : i knew they would shaft the US somehow (ignoring how the JAGM is limited to IR only , at least they could have worked out how to make it IR AND laser.)
