would a potato accelerated at tank rounds speed be able to destroy or damage other vehicles or planes?
i saw its possible to destroy some vehicles with smoke rounds so this question suddenly appeared in my mind
i heard that birds can actually bring planes down to their knees in a PvP and that it has actually happened before
I do really want they brought these old April fool mode back, for match making seek, just rotation them during weekends only. especially 2012 WWII KV2 robot fight and 2016 wooden boat fight. (probably also 2022 Dune as im really greedy) . playing football and po-2, hell cat racing is getting a little board
A potato at tank APFSDS speed would just shatter upon hitting armor. If it went fast enough that its kinetic energy was enough to blow up a tank upon hitting it, it would get destroyed by aerodynamic forces before it even hit the tank.
what if it was encased in some kind of soft sabot round to protect it from external forces so it can reach higher speeds?
also i wonder what caliber would be needed to load a potato in the first place, at first i thought it would be funny if L3cc had potato gun but i think the rifle is not suited for that, but a Japanese peanut looks kinda similar and i think l3cc would be to fire that instead from the rifle gun
if you look at the picture above as you can see theres also plenty of ammo with different aerodynamics, shapes and strength against the elements, the one on top of the banana potato for example seems like it would cause some serious damage at the right speed if you hit a radar or some unfortunate crew member from an open top vehicle
also what if instead of bmp2m grenade launcher an explosive potato was used instead, would the “shrapnel” from potato cause damage against infantry men? provided they have no battlegear ofc

Well a very fast potato shot to a tank it is only going to destroy the potato into pieces, like tank rounds actually do against strong armor. The tank armour’s not damaged but dirty.
Smoke rounds destroy vehicles because they have a very low amount of TNT that can overpressure exposed crews/ammo.
Birds can damage planes if a big amount of them go inside a plane’s engine, so yeah with enough potatoes you can destroy a plane’s engine.
We already have potato ammo in game it’s called APDS, low damage and shattering
