All i see is you spamming screenshots of good games. Good for you, but i’m pretty sure the opposing team is raging about your premium tank covered in bushes.
Don’t get me wrong, i don’t want to bash you. But i expected to see actual good things about the game here, like some QoL feature that’s not very well known or maybe a positive BR change, but again, all i see is screenshots of finished games and gambling.
So everyone has a subjective feeling or perception about what they like about the game or what works well for them. Everyone can decide for themselves what they write or what they want to share about the game. I can’t dictate to people that only this and that is positive; they have to write this and that. And honestly, I don’t really engage with a lot of things. I turn on the computer and play my rounds; nothing else interests me. I don’t take the game too seriously, that’s why I enjoy it, that’s why I enjoy posting progress or things that are going well. There’s already enough complaining going on.
@Beeschurger
Don’t get me wrong. I’m glad you’re having fun. But if i posted a screenshot of a me playing BMPT and CAS and got 20 kills and say i had a blast, how is this a positive for the game?
@RunaDacino
Now this is what i’m talking about. This is what the thread kinda implies. It’s good that Gaijin allows you to make your own scenarios where you can have historical matches or whatever.
So please forgive me if this is what i expected when i looked at screenshots gambling and premium tanks covered in bushes.
Again, i’m glad you guys are having fun, even if it’s at someone else expense, but how is this a positive thing of the game? In contrast i could say negatives like poor BR balance, OP vehicles, P2W features, not screenshots of me doing 0 kills. Makes sense?
So i will repeat myself, I was actually looking forward to reading some positive things about the game, like some hidden feature i never knew about.
@Gnadentod_777
Good for you. But you clickbaited me into coming in this thread. That’s why i commented. It’s not even remotely what the title implies.
Also since you’re very active in the thread, it would be nice to edit your post and mention actual good things that someone might mention, such as the guy above me.
You can take over this part if you find something nice, good, or progressive about the game; feel free to post it. I’ve decided to post it myself. I read enough complaining about how awful everything is, how nothing works, how bad everything is. Gaiji doesn’t get anything done, and it’s interesting what’s possible in this game, and that’s what this post or thread is for. You’re welcome to become a part of this thread, which you already are.
I also think that the diversity is precisely what makes this game so appealing, and that’s what might interest newcomers. The game is very complex, the niches are very intricate, and most average players can’t even imagine what’s possible without spending a lot of money to get premium vehicles or bushes for free. And so far, in my opinion, there hasn’t been a single topic addressed: how to make rounds go well, how to earn money, how to complete the Battle Pass effectively. I’m quite open about which tanks perform well, but I tend to play in the lower tiers rather than the very highest ones because I find the high tiers simply tedious. The implementation and the small maps don’t offer me much enjoyment.
Personally, I play everything: aircraft, tanks, coastal fleet, and high seas fleet. I play arcade games just as much as I play realistic ones; simulation isn’t my thing. What I like about the game, why I started playing it, and what my goals are are quite clear: to collect as many premium vehicles as possible and to fully upgrade aircraft and tanks to 8.7 on all nations. The goals for the coastal and high seas fleets aren’t as high. At least with the Germans, I’ve almost completely upgraded the high seas fleet, except for two or three ships. With the Americans, I’ve reached 6.7. The coastal fleets are at 3:0 ,3.7 respectively. That’s already a pretty good achievement.
It can also be incredibly fun when you do finally get to have an actual extended dogfight with someone. In SB at least there is usually a friendly environment and some chivalry. For fun I dragged my LaGG-3-8 into a 3.7-4.7 battle and had what felt like a long fight against a Mk Vb Spitfire. In a couple of instances I almost managed to force a head on but he eventually got me in the end.
No anger, we both congratulated each other on a really fun fight. That’s the way it should be.
That’s what I’d think, if it weren’t for the fact that the game constantly works against me, saving other players from my shots so they can turn around and kill me. This is incredibly frustrating, since I don’t like playing games that give players points for no reason.
Right now, the only good thing about the game is the incredible skill of the skin creators, who are the ones who give this game something different. It’s increasingly resembling a mediocre rip-off of World of Tanks.
Yes that is the way to take the game, it is not realistic and is quite broken in so many ways. What the big question asks is it worth spending money on, due to its faults it is really just a card collecting game, see if you can catch em all especially the rare ones (where rare is an artificially generated situation, that can and often is reversed for extra money).
I’ve already given up on spending money on the game. I recently sold my modern T-72 for 350 GP and spent half of that on premium vehicles that were 50% off. When more vehicles interest me, I’ll do the same: wait for the 50% discount and spend the remaining 150 GP.
There’s a chance I might spend €10 or so on something at least once a year, but even then, you think about it and it’s sad. How can you feel so bad and ripped off just for spending €10 a year on this game, while you think that you could have spent that money on beers or any other game?
Not much - the longer you play, the more the outcome of matches become predictable - and the more you become aware of either intended or accidental buffs & nerfs of certain vehicles or plain design flaws.
Positive is for me if you have matches in which everything went wrong (like playing 1 vs 6 after a few minutes in a full downtier) and you have zero chance to win - and out of nowhere your enemies throw their advantage away and you win with just 2 player kills like here:
Or when you get focused by 2 enemies trying to hunt you down and they actually waste 10 minutes chasing you in a faster plane at high altitude whilst my team had numerical advantage low and killed their team. And you killed that clown which ran out of fuel & had to rtb and insulted you the whole match like here:
That are basically the only reasons left to play the game - luring enemies into committing tactical/strategic mistakes AND beating the odds created by the MM and the BR policy - so it is positive that you still have a chance to compensate the odds, despite it is rather rare.
