Popular Opinion on the M55 Addition to 5 Tech Trees And All Copy Paste at Large

Forum polls are likely to get more negative views than positive.
Most people in general are status-quo on this.

Especially when ~12 confirmed copy-paste were present in the last update of 55 vehicles.

Copy-paste has never been a majority of an update.

I like the M55 spam. I prefer using it in the German tree, where I can shoot up some tanks in M55 and then jump in Ostwind and Wirble to combat the endless CAS spam at those BRs. Playing it in US tree would probably be a snooze fest. In German tree you need to make the most of M55 before the CAS arrives.

I would honestly remove all SPHs from game.

Sure sure iconic vehicles and funni gameplay, but at best theyre annoying given their mobility and one shot potential (but at least earlier ones can be MGed to death); at worst they completly screw over entire BR ranges with their LRFs completly invalidating entire vehicle classes and their mobility and reload rate allowing them to shine in CQB in certain scenarios - and if your most meta pick for CQB is self-propelled howitzer, your balancing is done through crack pipe.

Fine by me as long as it doesn’t unduly prolong the grind. If you’re adding a vehicle for one nation, you might as well add it to the others where it’s historically accurate.

When has that not been the case in this game?

No, we need more. Remember - there are many many thousands of people that play this game every day and they don’t have the same tastes as you. To me, being in a ‘meta’ MBT is a snooze fest. Leopard 2A7? yuck. Hull down sniping across the map? Boring. Give me the fun quirky vehicles. Give me some big arti boi. Give me some driving around in circles while I’m trying to get through my 30 second reload.

Anyway, SPGs are here to say - so it is a moot point. The question is around copy and paste. As I said above I’m fine with M55 spam, but I obviously - I’d rather they add the missing SPG pieces from the game, especially the German WW2 SPGs currently missing, such as the Wespe and Hummel.

Wanna hear my opinion?
It show Gaijin’s incompetency that can’t come up with better idea
ofc copy paste is easy that even 5 years old can do that.

They should have been added but indigenous SPG should have been added first and these foldered later

TLDR we found this on gaijin’s desk:

Who wins?

Carefully searching for each nation’s unique SPH, searching for its data, and modeling them as accurately as possible before adding them to the game
VS
Haha copy and paste goes tatatatattatatatatatat

Hummel and especially wespe are much lower though. Wespe has only a 105mm gun like the stuh42 at 3.0. So you have an open top, lightly armored vehicle with similar mobility (roughly similar hp/t). It would be at 2.0 if not lower.

For hummel it is similar. It wouldnt be above 3.0 if it doesnt get some of the experiment shells suggested by @Ghostmaxi. It would be the sturmpanzer 2 but with slightly better mobility, faster shells but bigger. The faster shells are the biggest advantage.

I think these vehicles should get added but they cant compete with post war vehicles and west germany simply used these vehicles. Germany btw should get the artillery used by east germany aswell. What germany shouldnt get is the priest, despite west germany using that aswell post ww2, because that is similar to the wespe

That would be nice

Copypaste slop is obviously bad due to uninteresting grind, but it can definitely help Gaijin and us players to better understand the difference in skill levels between nations.

It’s not enough that american howitzers are copy pasted everywhere now you want the soviet ones as well? Is it not enough that too many soviet vehickes are in the italian and british trees already?

What is even the point of nations at that point if all of them get US and soviet spgs.

I concur. I’ve never been a proponent of self-propelled artillery being used in a direct-fire, anti-tank mode; IRL this was done in emergencies. Yes, Cold War (and after) has SPA with anti-tank munitions but this is for indirect fires. WoT has the better usage of SPA in that they can plot fire indirecty; SPA should be kept in the rear for that purpose. But this is just my opinion and I don’t foresee WT changing anything mainly because they’ve sold premium SPA and that wouldn’t be fair to the buyers to have their vehicles taken away. What WT can do is cease adding SPA to the game, just freeze what’s already in game.

I don’t like artillery being added as tank destroyers. It also seems to be that “shared vehicles” are one of the new trends since the M44 (we all know what the purpose is).

Artillery rigs are easy kills when you see them, but besides that, there is really no use for the elevation/range abilities/no maps big enough to fully use artillery unless you are aiming at a plane

I can’t play anyway. I don’t understand. Players submit so many suggestions for vehicles. Why to still change the skin all the time? Why be lazy all the time? Can’t you come up with something very distinctive? I myself have submitted seven or eight very distinctive vehicles, and other players have also submitted a lot. But it never came out…

Funnily enough people tend to forget this goes both ways.

It is perfectly fine having preferences. I also have preferences. After all, you said it yourself, people dont have the same tastes as you.

Nope, I answered in accordance to OPs pool, that my prefered solution would be to remove all of them. I just didnt limit my answer to M55.

OP question

While I find things like M44 and M55 annoying, I dont find them that annoying to want them removed.

However what gets me tweaking without fail every damn time is when I meet LRF equipped arty in 1950s tank.

Yes I know, introduction dates dont matter.

But the odds are stacked against the 1950s tank, the LRF equipped arty is probably more mobile, reloads faster, no armor best armor and does not need to aim beyond seeing a single pixel worth of my tank at 1000m to completly obliterate my entire forehead.

Why be good when you can just direct-fire 155mm HE shells with pinpoint accuracy?

Because unlike Italy or the UK, germany used it. East germany is a part of german history.
