part of the problem is that the early mig-29’s should not have the r27er but instead the r73 and the r73 is a much better missile for a light fighter than the r-27er

MiG-29 should get its R-73 and R-27R as it was meant to be added and as it was designed. I do not see too much problem MiG-29 (9-13) sitting at 12.7 with that loadout, Mirage F1 have IRCCM missiles at BR 12.0 and no one is complaning about it or F-4J with HMS at BR 12.0 either; honestly in this game in my experience R-27R is easy to evade if you are close to the ground, I found harder to evade R-24R.
R-24R and R-27R are pretty similar in stats, just with 11g more pull

The R-73 uses a different mounting system than the Mig-29’s original mount.

Mirage F-1C is no where as close as good as Mig-29.
F-4J is infinitely inferior than R-73 Mig-29s and should never face them.
it uses a different pylon than the r-60 which isnt a issues as they can just be swapped out
the mig-29g is just a east german mig-29 9.12 that was recolored and had a translated cockpit irl
and those carried the r-73
mig-29 9.12 is an earlier model than the mig-29 9.13 that soviet tech tree has

Tornados with 2 9L are even more miserable at 11.7, sort of the same suffering the mig29 has, ARB is a 16v16 or whatever crapfest so missile buses are 10x more fun to play in that enviroment.
If we had more slow mythodical smaller size engagements it wouldnt be so bad. And mstches are basically over by the time you land and rearm.
The mig29 was at 13.0 or its equivilent in the TT before 14.0 decompression before it got r77. On one hand its nice they didnt have to grind a copy paste for the r77 but ya they dont get a 13.0 mig29 loadout as a result. Not sure what people would have preferred.
For russia I dont personally see a point in a 13.0 mig29 when you have su33 and su27 at 13.0. Germany just takes whatever it can get because their air TT is awful sfter the mig21 bis until the typhoon, ICE going down to 13.0 helps I guess.

Even in ASB when Tornado F3 Vs Mig29 was every single match. The Mig29 dominated every fight.
Skyflash was defeated by MP and flying high was equally deadly due to R-27ER.
I would never win a turn fight nor could I run away. If the joist failed, the only option was hope there was a teammate nearby to help or J out.
In my experience, Mig29 is far from a weak aircraft, even without missiles to rely upon

Yes, but still doesn’t change the fact that a mig29 at 12.0 even with very limited loadout, wouldn’t still be very very strong.

Though that’s only lower because US mains are bad, I’d they had a mig29 it would be about 11.7

scuse me what? the thing slams at 12.7 with its current loadout.
If it gets 4 x R73 it will instantly go to 13.0 minimum those missiles are not found on capable platforms below that, su25s dont count.
Now that is a possibility, TBH I find it okay as is with the 2 R27ERs, suppose im used to the F16AJ which has the 9Ls which while better than R60s get flares still relatively easily.
But yeah 4x R73s and 2 standard 27Rs seems alright.
Personally dont see the mig29 as needing changed, find it a really good plane for the BR TBH
F16A slams the mig29 in every regard bar SARH missile… dunno why it sits at 12.3 xD
i think the mig29 should get its historical loadout
means remove the r-27er from it and give it the r73
and then it might be fine at its current br with the amount of irrcm missiles that are already around that br range

Okay so I know not much about the Mig29 series, like at all.
So if it historically didn’t use the R27ER why does it have it?
AND how can we push to change it if it didnt have it?

because it had R73 + R27R at one point on dev and R73 was broken beyond belief. so they took it away and compensated with 27ER.
