no, we (or at least me) want the mig29 to have it’s historical loadout of 4 R73s + R27Rs.
Now the only saving grace of the 29 is the ahistorical R27ER that never used, you take that away and the plane becomes abysmal (suboptimal IR missiles, avionics and Flight performance)
Now, me personally i would be okay with it’s current loadout if it at least had it’s original Flight model, but that’s not case
The addition of the R73s would maybe include a br increase but i personally do NOT care in the slightest
You won’t have a enjoyable time with the SMT right now, I would just ignore it and play the 12.7 mig29 instead. The 13.0 su-27 is decent even right now, its borderline OP for 13.0 and if you get uptiered, you can often get a couple kills but you will rarely survive if you are aggressive (which you should to help your team)
That’s the case for any jet (and maybe even props), since they nerfed energy retention in everything once or twice in the last 1-2 years, only the flankers were buffed recently, maybe too much.
I remember the F-16 block-10 having like 26 deg/s sustained turn, the F-14 with around 24, now its much less, for everything.
The biggest nerf specifically related to the mig29 was when gaijin made the flaps rips at speed when the mig29G was introduced. Back then you could abuse takeoff flaps at like 500kph which helped the energy rentetion. (specifically for the mig29, I see people use takeoff flaps in F-16 and I cringe)
The flanker seems to overperform a bit at higher speeds, and underperforming at low speeds.
It appears that the J11B is an excellent rate fighter, perhaps even one of the best ones.
And for the f16A blck 10, it will still win any dogfight with any flanker, as it is one of the best dogfighters in the entire game, capable of even contesting rafails and eurofighters
su-27/su-27SM are still strong at slow speeds, almost matching a F-16C and surpassing it at higher speeds. The J-11B is even better, probably outclassing our reference F-16C at any speed but I haven’t tested it extensively so I could be wrong.
Yeah, its about on par with the gripen now, the rafale and specially the Eurofighter are still in another class though.
I fly the mig29 like a big ol super mig21, so I tend to not try force a sustained fight with people. For example I wont enter a dogfight with a block 10 F16 unless I have to.
You can limit yoursel with the R-27Rs + R73 if you really want. Or just use 6xR73
There’s no chance you would have a mig29 with R-73 at 12.7.
You have the bison at 12.3, which should be 12.7, now imagine an even better loadout on an actually good FM
So, are we ok that MiG-29 (9-13) get a loadout of:
4xR-73 & 2xR-27R/T at BR 12.7
I would like to say that F-16A ADF get the next louadout:
4xAIM-9M & 2xAIM-7F at BR 12.7
but I don’t know how was the loadout historically of F-16A ADF, but MiG-29 (9-13) needs to get its historical loadout. R-27R have similar stats like R-24R, it just have 11g more pull, but R-27R is so easy to evade if you are near the ground or notch it, unless you are in mid air flying unaware you are free meat like to any SARH missile and R-73 may be good but it isn’t unevadable, I’ve seen people flare R-73 with 2 flares, I’ve flared R-73 too, and MiG-29 isn’t a Flanker to do crazy cobra maneuvers to say that MiG-29 flight model is insane, and there are not a lot of 11.7 and MiG-23ML/MLD/MLA can keep up but in my experience 11.7 are more downtiers matches than uptiers, and 12.7 is more uptiers than downtiers.
