[ Poll ] Should India stay in UK tech tree?

In 2023, T-90S Bhisma was added in the game to the UK tech tree. This was a questionable addition according to many people as Russian vehicles shouldn’t be in the British tech tree. later, in 2024 the MiG-21 Bison was added, with the confirmation of India being a UK subtree. This was not the best idea in the eyes of the community due to many reasons. firstly as stated before, Russian vehicles don’t make sense in a British tech tree, secondly the british tech tree is filled, hence a dedicated subtree line cant be added for the Indian subtree hence blocking the addition of many other potential unique vehicles. This was also viewed as a “support” for colonialism by some (but pretty vague imo). There have also been doubts that this will also prevent British’s own unique vehicles from adding (which Smin has cleared that the subtree wont have a effect, but is still a questionable claim).

With a lot of potential unique vehicles, the representation of India in game isn’t fair (this also goes for other nations like Poland and Turkey but this thread is about India). There are other options where Indian vehicles can come, but they arent the best, hence i am making this poll to get your ideas where should the Indian vehicles come, every vote counts!

  • Independent Indian tech tree
  • Subtree in Israel
  • Probable addition in ASEAN tech tree
  • Keep it in britain with a dedicated subtree line
  • Keep it as it is

Now many of you are wondering that most of the stuff is copy paste, that is not the case, there are multiple vehicles that could come, i am listing few of them here

this thread will give you a good idea for ground vehicles :-

Spoiler
  1. Tejas

comes in main 3 variants :-

  • Tejas Mk1

base variant

  • Tejas Mk1 Naval

o1okj69o_tejas-navy-jet-ndtv_625x300_02_August_18

Major difference from base variant is the 2 seat cockpit and LEVCONS, which greatly allow low speed maneuverability and engine airflow during high AOA

  • Tejas Mk1a

The difference being major avionics changes with a indigenous AESA radar

  1. Marut :-

3 different variants possible to come in game :-

  • HF-24 Mk1

Used non after burning bristol engines

  • HF-24 Mk1 R

5119841

Used after burning bristol engines

  • HF-24 Mk1 BX

hf-24-marut

Used e-300 bradner engines giving it a peak twr of nearly 1.6 , however only 1 prototype was made

  1. HAL Kiran

With many more current aircraft projects, there is a lot to offer, not to mention i am not considering the MAJORLY modified imported jets here.

For ground we have tonnes of vehicles and variants :-

you got your timeline wrong.

First indian vehicle in UK tree was Vijayanta in La Royale. Bhisma was added in Sons of Atilla.

Also why on Earth would it go to Israel as subtree?

I dont know why the addition of indian vehicles to the british tt is ticking off so many people.
Its just where gaijin has decided the vehicles should go.

Its not that deep and its definitely not for any underhanded political reason (like supporting colonialism).
If it ain’t broke, dont fix it.

I personally love indian vehicles and cant wait for the rest of em to come to the rather boring british toptier lineup

No noister india cannot have its own sub tree

India’s current implementation is horrible. India deserves it’s own line at least, moreso than say, Hungary. Or Finland.

Though well we can’t quite change anything now. So the best approach is to sprinkle Indian vehicles in the British tech tree. Stuff like Tejas, Zorawar, Arjun. Can be added like how NL Leopards are.

Historically speaking the UK colonised india so it makes sense that india is the UK’s sub tree

Well this is past that point.

Independent tree if it’s replaced by CANZAC

Technically the Vickers MBT mk1 is the first Indian arguably even if people want to deny that the whole thing was rigged up specifically to fill the Indian tender and in cooperation with India and steal it from the Germans ;)

I have my own personal beliefs on that, especially when people are completely fine with Canada, Aussieland and Kiwibirbs being added using US and German equipment lol. “but closer tech” also doesnt explain people being anti French kit from India but pro French kit from South Africa.

I think British export vehicle is a tad different though to a soviet export vehicle.

Centurion belongs in the British TT if there is no where else for it to go. A T90 or mig21 doesn’t

export* vehicle

*terms and conditions apply, may or may not exist completely because of the Indian contract.

xD

Does that mean we can get every US vehicle too?

Because soviet vehicles are a wierd addition. Especially when Canada has a load of really interesting native vehicles that would actually fit far neater in our TT or our other sub TT, south Africa which has more unique additions like the cheetah.

Not too mention Britain, which is missing loads.

Just Britain and South Africa could result in a tree like this

I really don’t see the need for Soviet C&P

Strela, OSA, mig21 and T90 are just lazy C&Ps and we don’t want Mig29 C&Ps instead of additions like the Hawk or a properly modeled Typhoon

probably le mao

Gaijin: Adds tree to the game
Players: REEE IT’S ALL COPY PASTE

Gaijin: Ok, add subtree/specific units of semi-unique stuff to skip the copy/paste
Players: REEE IT SHOULD BE ITS OWN TREE

There’s never any winning with you lot is there…

An independent tree would have 90% copy/paste with maybe a couple different rounds or something, and then 10% unique. I would rather instead of doing that, we fill out the existing trees as they have been, and/or come up with a way to release a combined tree with multiple nations at once with <50% copy/paste for those who aren’t already represented (when filling is no longer required as much).

mb man

Theres no other relatable tech tree where india can be a subtree
A lot of the upgrades done on indian vehicles were done by israelis, and a lot of weapons are israeli weapons too. there have been multiple join venture products like the Barak 8 missiles, thats why i added israel as a option
