yf14a-65 tested it for the integration for the f14D to have AMRAAMs so f14D should have aim120 also since it’s the only f14 that’s supposed to use aim120 and have a radar that’s capable as the f15E
I don’t think that’s true as of right know the only info is that the aim120 is in the stores management subsystem… and that The functionality in the weapon is identical between the AIM-7MH-build and AIM-7P. meaning it should have uplink for both missiles and if I’m not wrong the aim54c+ should have it as well

Yeah I’ve posted aim120 is compatible with apg71 and for the aim7p the one and possibly only good documentation of aim7p says aim7m/aim7p can be used in the f14
So what about you sources/links?
F-14B and D both had technical access to the AIM-7P, B didn’t have datalink is the problem

Here you can read that AIM-120 was only tested in STT mode on the F-14 meaning it couldnt use radar’s datalink. If AIM-120 couldnt, AIM-7P would be the same as they share the same DL method (Link 16).
I’m still trying to find direct source saying that on F-14 the AIM-7P can only be used in AIM-7M (H-build) infrastructure.
Correct me if I’m wrong but can’t a AWACS also guide a aim54. Or also help give the f14D extra perspective/data from the awacs radar witch is fighter to fighter data link but would also help in guiding the aim54 witch should also have mid course guidance for the awacs to be able to guide it if the f14D can’t for whatever reason?
If gaijin use this logic to F-14D then. They should
- Remove double rack of SU-27SM
- Remove KH-38MT
- Remove R-27 in F-14AM because Its fail in test.
- Remove F-15C GE amber rack.
It not make sense if they logic was want a correct load out.
Do u guys think aim54c+ way too easy to chaff then it should be? Even a bot without chaff just need to notch to evade it.
Not directly, But it should be able to cue an F-14 to corelate a track, in order to provide guidance using either the Link-4A, (-4C is intra- F-14 flight) or later Link-16 Datalink networks.
