F-22 is far from a light airframe
“Lighter” not light I was highlighting the benefits of 2D TV because the F-22’s airframe allow it to be very effective.
Yeah it does help the F-22, but what exactly is the F-22 lighter than?
Su-35 and Su-57 which have 3D thrust
Edit nevermind the F-22 is really freaking heavy
F-22 is heavier than both
Yeah I just realized that. Idk why the 2D works so well on it then.
Because its about wingloading ratio and the f22 has a good one like the su30sm and the su30 also is a littel way to heavy and produces 4tonns less thrust than rl
The problem all the Flankers currently have is too much drag and not enough lift
So that’s a good thing then? All the missiles being center mass with a ton of thrust.
Umm. No not really. Maybe su30sm2 with al41s.
isnt wingloading ratio just the weight/wing area for the jet?
is your name actually ROSTMEO per chance?
I don’t really like F-22, but it’s the biggest engine power out there, F-22 can probably melt enemy jet in a dogfight if it’s close enough. Su-57 is a boat compared to it.
you know that the F22 weihgs ~19 tons empty?
engine power isnt everything as seen by the F-15E compared to the F-15A, for example
sure the f15e has more thrust than the f15a but overall the f15a has a significantly better flight performance than the f15e due to being lighter
more modern versions of su-57 actually have more thrust than the f-22 (currently only the t-50-2 prototype though, but will be on su-57m serial later on).
And the su-57 serial has better wing loading than the f-22, so i’d bet it would compress less
pw 119 when izd 177
while being able to carry more fuel as well
the f22 has really inefficent engines/ bot that much fuel as it cant make it over the atlantic without areal refuling
something that the Mig29 managed to do
That’s what I’m talking about, it’s fat, but it has engines the size of those sleeping pods to support that. Engine power carries it, it is maneuverable.
