The state of the luchs right now:
The luchs is nearly unplayable currently. It accelerates really slow and takes ages to drive up hills. It’s big and has almost nothing going for it compared to the wiesel 1A4 or marder A1-. It has no real lineup aswell. Maybe at 7.7 with the maus, m48 and pzh2000. Many german tanks at these brs simply overtake you and get to the point first while also having armarment which can kill reliably most enemies.
My argument to move it to 5.7 are these:

It would be more historical
Due to the increased weight of the A2 upgrades it lost its swimming ability. Right now in Warthunder it still has it which is unhistorical

Germany is missing a light tank between 3.7 and 6.7
There are no light tanks between the ww2 puma and the german m41. Moving it down to 5.7 would fill a hole in the german tech tree and would give germany finally a tank to flank and scout in these brs they desperately need

There are similar tanks at these brs.
both the japanese sub1-2 and amx10p are at 5.3/6.0 with dm63 belt. The R3 is at 6.0 aswell but lacks dm63.
If we talk about modern tanks in ww2 brs then there are plenty of modern sphs there now aswell.
I think gaijin really should change it to the A1 version and move it down. Right now it’s one of the worst stock grind I ever experienced.

luchs and scimitar really got done dirty in the previous update and just flat-out suck being as high as they are. however neither should go as low as 5.7.
I think it should go to 6.7 to be a light tank in the Heavy tank meta of 6.7 so its mobility will really shine while making its use a a support car more valuable. Because of the better shell on scimitar (but awful mobility as it was modelled incredibly wrong) it should be 7.0. They were both portrayed as their respective nations equals so they can still fight together while not facing things that will always win

Let me guess: the transmission is aweful because that’s the reason for the luchs and both vehicles seem to have really good hp/t

I disagre with moving the luchs down lower because of the thermals. Thermals have no place below 7.0. That’s why suggested to change it to the A1 variant without thermals. This would make it historical like i wrote in my first point. My second point about germany having no light tank would be fixed aswell if it would be lower. It doesnt need to be 5.7. 6.0 would close that gap a little bit aswell
The scimitar can move down. Didnt see it much either way (compared to the fox) and giving britain an alternative to the slow ratels
the gearbox is just non functional on scimitar and you lose all speed when turning as its far too twitchy, like people drive these tanks on public roads just fine and at speed limits yet it will be beaten over most terrain by the chieftain.
I don’t think thermals make that big of a difference on a light vehicle, on something like a VIDAR they do but the pea shooter on luchs no.
scimitar was DOA, I almost never see any of them and they are often dead real quick because they just cant flank from how slow they are
