The new mode is essentially a refined Enduring Confrontation found in Simulator Battles, but with Air RB mechanics. It is extremely fun and significantly more engaging than the current Air RB modes. The ability to respawn relieves the stress and frustration of real Air RB matches, and the research/silver payout is much more rewarding in both raw numbers and enjoyment.
While it may need some set BR ranges, like Simulator, it is an overall much healthier game design than our current modes. I would also suggest adding helicopters to the gamemode, which should work relatively well, as the current ways of grinding the modifications are extremely slow and boring.

This mode is much fun than Air RB, every type of aircraft do the thing and cooperate, the only thing to do is balance. I thought gaijin don’t know how to make a new game mode but it make me surprised.
It much fit the situation irl, front line always covered by AAs and SAMs, SEAD and CAP mission required in same time. Stealth aircraft won’t be toy, EW jamming mechanism and long range AG missile won’t be useless, more features could be introduced in that mode.
TBH, Top tier Ground RB is a disaster to Aircraft player rightnow, a lot of unit crowded in a 4x 4km map, air zone same, and then have to fly to this tiny combat zone to face those unbeatable AA and SAMs

You guys must be kidding right? -I’ve got maybe 2 hours into this- This is just Air RB with so many SAM that the already terrible strike aircraft are even crappier. … So you just spam A2A until you get a nuke?

No, atleast not without significant changes to the balance, and only if every single nation is able to contribute.
Having played a bit more, I think that it is just not that good, and shouldn’t be made permanent until SPAA doesn’t force you to lawnmow, the balance isn’t 4th gens vs 3rd gens, your RWR shuts up for once, and until all nations can participate meaningfully.
It definitely needs some work, but it does seem more enjoyable than being in Air RB :)
This could possibly be a test of that big battle mode they were talking about last year in a CM update, and I’ve found it quite fun so far!
