With some changes and with even larger maps, this should be permanent. This is so much fun than regular air RB but wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too tiring than regular air RB. Unpopular opinion, but they should also remove name tags and missile diamond so that players actually rely on their RWR, radar and MAW. Also they could probably do NATO vs China and Russia as well with AWACS and everything else.

This mode is exactly what we lost back when RB EC was removed from the game.
This is what RB should have been from the start.
It needs to stay and with more nations.
If we also keep the nukes in the game, we can start adding the likes of the B-58 and Vigilante, or the legendary peacemaker too and other aircraft which never operated with conventional munitions.
As others have said as well, SPAAG needs to not be C-RAM, their ability to intercept everything is vastly too good, to the point that ARMs are frankly useless.
To make up for it, ground units can spawn in larger amounts and more often, which would also allow ground pounders to feast even more heavily.

In my opinion, they could completely replace the AIR RB with this; it’s much better. The only thing I have to complain about is the balance for those who don’t have the aircraft of each nation. After all, the F4E Phantom is useless against the MiG-23 MLD, since one can use 100% of its radar missiles and the other can only use them if the enemy is in the stratosphere. Also, the SU-25 with Vikhr is much better than the A-10 or A-7E.

I detest ARB.
The biggest reason is because of only ONE stupid spawn. Makes everyone play like rabid dogs. I HATE the game play. Air Arcade is a MUCH better experience. Matches last longer. People actually play objectives. “Realistic” matches last like 5 minutes. Can’t even get to an objective most of the time before the stupid match is over, or ticket bleed ends it before I can actually do anything, especially with my strike aircraft. (Doesn’t matter if I play fighters anyway, matches still end in minutes.)
I DO like the Realistic controls, flight models, everything. I would absolutely play ARB if I could spawn more than once. Heck, even THREE spawns like in Ground Arcade and I would play ARB.
BUT THIS EVENT IS AMAZING.
I LOVE the Realistic models and flight controls and LOVE the “infinite” spawn in with SL’s. I would play this mode SO much if it was available. Especially if they made it combined arms were we could take in our tanks AND even ships.
THIS is why I started playing War Thunder 10 years ago. THIS is what I have wanted. PLEASE Gaijin, make this permanent 🙏

I just don’t know how they would balance things out with nations that don’t have nuclear weapons.
You do not need to kill players to get a nuke, just hop in a strike aircraft and kill some ground units until you get the 5 or 30kt nuke. By then you just farm airfields are good to go. Even if you die, bombing a single airfield or ammo depot will give you enough to spawn nuke again.

Absolutely NOT “Just ARB”. In ARB you only get ONE spawn. That is the absolute worst thing about ARB. It is disgusting. Matches barely last 5 minutes. Air ARCADE is more “realistic” than ARB. Air Arcade matches actually last 10, 15, and even 20-30 minutes quite frequently. People actually playing objectives, working together. ARB is GARBAGE.
How many times a month do you have an ARB match at 13.0 BR last 30 minutes or an hour, that isn’t just two lone players trying to find each other for 30 minutes? 🤮 Never, that’s how often.
Not even close. This event and ARB are hardly comparable, the only thing “the same” is the flight models and controls. That’s it.
No, ARB is so detestable that I never play it. I play Air Arcade 100% of the time when I fly, and have a wonderful time in it. EVERY time. I can pull in my fighters, pull in my strike aircraft. But you only get ONE “chance” in ARB and then you are sent back to the main menu in minutes from the Fox 3 spam. It is absolutely abhorrent.
This is not “a break” from ARB, this is a solution.
Screenshot below is why I play Air Arcade and not stupid ARB. Instead of choosing ONE plane, I pick and choose which plane works best for the current situation.
And you can’t even change planes in ARB after you land! HOW STUPID!!!
Even in Ground Realistic you can keep spawning in different vehicles (if you have the Spawn Points). How on earth have so many of you not revolted with this STUPID single spawn in ARB for so long? Especially at the higher BR’s where matches only last 5 mins?!

I mean ARB is fine until there’s one player left playing spaceship and you spent 15+ mins chasing him for him to just crash and for no one to get the kill, or landing and not switching to a new plane, etc…GRB is fine tho.

We need at least the core gamemode (EC) to become permanent and the rest of nations to be added.
Playing the event has put many people (including me) in perspective on how stale ARB has grown over the years—even when Gaijin has made efforts of varying degrees to revitalize it—, this new gamemode has been a huge breath of fresh air, and the word in bold cannot be understated.
Balance can be addressed on the way, but I’m having a blast to the point I already grinded both nations marks just this past afternoon.

I think this should replace ARB and use this as a template(with obvious balancing and minor adjustment) as a new template Air sim battles. Air Sim is on life support. Given that infantry was a teaser last year and it now actually a new feature gives me a bit of hope that changes like this are quite possible
