The attempt of an 8.0 - 12.7 BR decompression for GRB is commendable, but there are some vehicles that have BR changes (or lack there of) that are questionable or downright ridiculous.
The Magach 5 not moving up (despite having DM23, rangefinder, and ERA at 8.0) is very questionable, especialy considering that the M48A2 G A2 is at 8.3 with similar characteristics – sacrificing ERA and 50.cal for better hp/ton and slightly better cupola.
The Vickers Mk.1 should be moved up to 8.3 considering it is mostly a side-grade (or dare I say better) than the Vickers Mk.3, sacrificing the LRF, slightly better mobility (worse top speed and reverse speed), worse selection of rounds (side-grade APDS and no access to HEATFS), gun depression (-7 instead of -10), and slightly worse armour for a much better reload (5s vs 6.7s).
I would like to mention that the Vijayanta is effectively a Vickers Mk.1 but with the Vickers Mk.3’s ammunition, but I’d say that it doesn’t warrant a 0.3 BR increase because (for whatever reason) the Vijayanta did not get the engine HP buff that the Vickers Mk.1 received, nor does it fit particularly well at the 8.7 meta because of some specific vehicles that will be mentioned later…
The CLOVIS is still at 8.0 despite being objectively better than the DF105, with access to a LRF and a coaxial 20mm. Move it up to 8.3!
The AUBL / 74 HVG gets a very lackluster 60mm, which its 5s reload and full stabilisation does not fully justify its 0.3 increase in BR. Either keep it at 8.0 or reduce its reload speed to ~4.5 - 4.0s.
The PGZ88 is being moved up from 8.0 to 8.7 despite it being a better ZSU-37-2 (better hull armour, acceleration, turret armour, and gun depression… but worse firerate, top speed, and reverse speed). It should be at most a 0.3 difference to the Yenisei, which it currently is.
The Strv 103s at 8.0 aren’t particularly good at their BR, and so while I can see how they are quite oppressive in downtiers, their armour (and therefore their ability to fight back because of being immobilized) at 8.3 and beyond diminishes rapidly. I wouldn’t be against moving them up to 8.3, but they certainly won’t be anything special.
Raketenautomat did not move up to 8.3 despite its countparts (such as the U-SH 405 and, to a lesser degree, the R3 T106FA) being moved up to 8.3. After the mobility increase buff, and after it received the ammo box buff, it has no business staying at 8.0 when other 8.0+ vehicles are moving up.
The Falcon moving up to 8.7 does not seem to make sense when the 35mm SPAAs (such as the Type 87 and Gepard) are better in the most significant aspects. The 35mm APHE and HE is much better against tanks and planes respectively than 30mm APHE and HE, not to mention that those 35mm SPAAs get a search radar, better mobility, smoke grenades, access to some APDS, and (to some degree) better armour. It should remain at 8.3.
The AMX-30 S DCA, while it did not move up in BR in these BR changes, should move down to 8.3. It’s practically a worse Gepard / Type 87 considering it uses 30mm guns, does not get access to APDS, and does not have a stablizer.
The Chieftain Marksman is one of the worse 35mm SPAAs in the game, having very bad mobility compared to the others. I would say that it should remain at 8.3.
IS-7, for some reason, is staying at 8.3 despite being pretty mobile, has pretty good armour (especially in full downtiers), a very powerful one-shot APHE round (every 10s), and 2x 14.5s that can break tracks and barrels rather easily. Moving other 8.0s / 8.3s up in BR and keeping this at 8.3 is despicable. Poor 7.3s like the T32 and FV4202 stand little to no chance against it.
The T-10M could also arguably go to 8.7, especially because it’s a great heavy tank with a two-plane stabilizer, but its hull armour, mobility, and reload is much worse than the IS-7’s.
The Type 74s and STB-2s moving up from 8.3 to 8.7 makes little to no sense considering their round and reload are rather below average compared to other vehicles at 8.7. Their armour aren’t particularly impressive either. Keep them at 8.3.
The Olifant Mk.1A moving up from 8.3 to 8.7 is questionable. While it is very strong at 8.3 (especially if it stays at 8.3 while others move up), the Sho’t Kal Gimel is already at 8.7, with better hull armour (Cent Mk.3 hull vs Cent Mk.10’s + Blazer ERA), same round (DM23), same access to LRF, slightly better acceleration, slightly better gun handling, and slightly better reverse speed, and access to a coaxial 50.cal.
However, we should not move the Sho’t Kal Gimel to 9.0 because the Sho’t Kal Dalet sits at 9.0, with access to thermals and ESS.
The M41D going to 8.7 is absolutely ridiculous. It was already mediocre at 8.0 and moving it to 8.3 was already questionable. The reload (5.9s) and round (M464) makes its firepower pretty abysmal, and its okay mobility, gun depression, thermals, and LRF cannot make up for that. Keep it at 8.3 so that it has some breathing room and reduce its reload speed to ~4.5s - 5.0s.
The MARS 15 is pretty good at 8.3 but it does not deserve an 8.7 battle rating. Its round, reload, LRF, and mobility is rather good, but it is wobbly, fragile, and completely unstabilized.
The AMX-10RC is also pretty good at 8.3, but it does not deserve an 8.7 battle rating either. Its round is good, along with access to LRF and thermals, but, again, it is wobbly, fragile, and completely unstabilized… not to mention the fact that the reload is 7.5s. The AMX-30 BRENUS is arguably a better vehicle, which currently sits (and will sit) at 8.7. Either keep the AMX-10RC at 8.3, or move it up to 8.7 with a 6.7s / 6.0s reload.
The Rooikat Mk.1D has pretty good mobility, gun depression, and gun handling, but its firepower is very poor because of its lackluster 76mm round. It’s more of a sidegrade to the Vickers Mk.11, which has even better gun handling and a much better round (105mm /w C76A1)… at the cost of worse mobility and slightly worse armour. Either keep the Rooikat Mk.1D at 8.7 or move it up to 9.0 with a 6.0s / 5.5s reload.
The Leopard A1A1 should go back to 9.0 from 8.7 after the BR decompression. It has no business staying at the same BR as the T-55A, T-62, Magach 6R, or even the M60A1 RISE (P) considering it has significantly better mobility at the cost of the lack of their mediocre armour.
The Turm III should also go up in BR after the BR decompression. It has no business being alongside the T-55A, T-62, Sho’t Kal Gimel, nor M60A1 Rise (P) when it has much better mobility, a very good coaxial 30mm, much better gun depression, and (most importantly) a 5s reload.
The Object 122MT “MC” staying at 8.7 after this BR decompression is ridiculous. It gets access to a two-plane stabilizer with a LRF, respectable armour (unlike the Magach 6R, T-55A, or Sho’t Kal Gimel), good enough mobility, and 4x ATGMs to make up for the longer reload (over the T-62). It should move up to 9.0.
The M60A3 TTS’s are very good and they should all move up to 9.3. The Magach 6B / Magach Hyrdra moving up from 8.7 would have made sense if all the M60A3 TTS’s were not at 9.0. The M60A3 TTS’ all have very good rounds for 9.0, along with respectable armour, good enough gun handling, good enough reverse speed, great gun depression, and access to very good optics with thermals and ESS. Again, move them up to 9.3.
The WMA301 and PTL02 are not particularly good at 9.0, let alone 9.3. They have above average rounds, good optics, and good thermals, but they have very little armour, very poor reverse speed, mediocre gun handling, and terrible gun depression. There is no real reason to move them up.
The T58 moving up to 9.0 was warranted, but the BR decompression means that it should, quite frankly, be at 9.3.
The Object 279 did not move up with the BR decompression despite being one of the best 9.0s in the game because of its great turret armour, decent mobility, and a respecatable reload for its very powerful one-shot APHE. There is little to no reason why it should not move up.
The XM803 should arguably move up to 9.3 after the BR decompression, considering it has much better mobility, gun handling, and armour than the Leopard A1A1, though it gets access to a worse round (XM578E1 vs DM23) and worse reload (7.5s vs 6.7s).
The OF-40 Mk.2A should arguably move up to 9.3 after the BR decompression since it has better turret armour, better hull armour, better turret survivability, much better gun handling, and access to a LRF over the Leopard A1A1, though it has worse mobility.
The TAM is arguably better than the Leopard A1A1 since it has much better mobility and access to a LRF, though at the cost of worse gun depression (-7 vs -9) and (to a lesser extent) armour. It should arguably move up to 9.3 too.
The T-69 II G should not move up to 9.3! It has worse UFP armour than the ZTZ88s, and much worse acceleration as well. Not only that, but the T-69 II G also has worse reverse speed and top speed. It should stay at 9.0, especially considering the fact that it is inferior to the ZTZ88s besides for having better side armour (80mm vs 60mm).
The AFT09 should move up to 9.3. Its ATGMs are extremely potent and the small launcher makes it very difficult to kill while hull-down.
The Type 89 should definitely move up from 9.0 to 9.3 after these BR changes. Its autocannon is very good for the BR, especially after decompression, and its ATGMs are quite potent, albeit it only gets access to four. The mobility and armour are also quite respectable. I do not see a reason why other autocannon vehicles should get moved up but not the Type 89.
The Stingrays (unsurprisingly Gaijin failed to mention the American version of it in the google docs) are good but not particularly powerful at 9.3. If we compare it to the Leopard 1A5, they have worse gun depresion, no thermals, worse reverse speed, and worse armour… but they have much better gun handling, and access to a 50.cal. They should arguably stay at 9.3 rather than move up to 9.7.
The Olifant Mk.2 should move up to 9.7 as it is one of the most powerful 9.3s. It gets access to Gen 2 thermals with ESS, DM63 with an average reload, great gun depression, good gun handling, and good mobility. The armour is somewhat lacking, but it’s better than the Leopard 1A5’s.
The Gal Batash and Magach 7C are equal or better than the Magach 6B Gal, Magach 6C, and Strv 105 in every aspect.
They both have much better acceleration than the other two Magachs, and much better armour and slightly better gun handling than the Strv 105.
Furthermore, the Strv 105 and Magach 6B Gal get no access to ESS, and the Strv 105 does not get access to LWS… unlike the Gal Batash and Magach 7C.
Move the Gal Batash and Magach 7C up to 9.7.
The MBT-70 gets much better acceleration, reverse speed, and suspension controls, along with a roof-top 20mm over the XM803. However, it is objectively worse than the KPZ-70, which weighs less, has a stronger engine, four times as many smoke grenades, and (most importantly) a much better reload (6s vs 7.5s). The KPZ-70 should definitely move to 9.7, but the MBT-70 should definitely stay at 9.3.
The AMX-30 Super gets better gun handling, much better acceleration, much better reverse speed, and a coaxial 50.cal… at the cost of slightly worse gun depression, and a worse round (OFL 105 F1
vs DM33). It is overall better than the Leopard 1A5, though, and so it should move up to 9.7 as well.
Keep the T-64A at 9.3. While it has a better reload than the T-72A / T-72M (6.0s vs 7.0s), it gets no access to smoke grenades, no roof-mounted 50.cal, no LRF, and much worse hull armour. The T-72s can frontally stop ~M774 and below somewhat reliably at ranges of ~300m+ while the T-64A cannot even stop DM23.
The CM11 is staying at 9.3 despite having a 5s reload with a great shell (DM63) along with good gun depression, and great optics with thermals and ESS. It should move up to 9.7 as a result.
The TAM 2IP should move up from 9.3 to 9.7 after the BR decompression. It gets much better gun handling, acceleration, and top speeds than the Leopard 1A5, along with the same round (DM33) and similar armour that is enough to frontally withstand ~25mm / 30mm APDS in most cases. The Leopard 1A5 gets better gun depression (-9 vs -7), but the TAM 2IP is overall better.
The XM8 is still at 9.7, meaning that it is objectively superior to the VFM5 (that will be moving up to 9.7).
The XM8 has a much better reload of the VFM5 (5s vs 6.7s), much better acceleration & optics and access to thermals. The VFM5 gets a superior shell (DM33 vs M774), but the 5s reload and other aspects more than make up for that. Move the XM8 up to 10.0.
The CT-CV 105HP, Boxer MGS, and Harimau should all move down by 0.3 BRs respectively.
Their reload nerf had massively nerfed their firepower, turning their incredible 5s reload into a very below average 7.5s reload (being able to be outreloaded by any other tank). Even with the BR decompression, the fact that the CT-CV 105HP is at a higher BR than something like the Rooikat MTTD is staggering. Needless to say, I would rather play the Type 16 or Vextra 105 at 10.0 than the CT-CV 105HP.
Same could honestly be said with the Boxer MGS and Harimau, but let’s start with a 0.3 BR reduction for these vehicles.
Keep the PGZ09 at 9.3. It is worse than the M247 in terms of SPAA capabilities, and yet it’s supposedly fine at 10.0 despite MCLOS aircraft from 8.0 all the way to 9.7 are quite easily able to counter it.
Keep the AMX-40 at 10.0. It is worse than the Leopard 2K in terms of reverse speed, the lack of no NATO hump, having worse gun handling, gun depression, optics, turret armour, turret survivability, and hull survivability. Not to mention the fact that a roof-mounted 20mm is far more useful than a coaxial one. Its only real benefit over the 2K is that it gets thermals with ESS, but that is not enough to warrant having the AMX-40 move up in BR alongside the Leopard 2K.
The Strela-10M is a very potent SPAA, as it has 20Gs of pull and can completely ignore flares in some cases due to its optical tracking capabilities. After the BR decompression, a lot of helis and CAS aircraft got moved up by 0.7 BRs (like the Tiger HAP, Jaguar A, AMX, or (god forbid) the AJS37s / Hawk 209s). These vehicles cannot compete with the Strela in a lot of cases, and so the Strela should go up to 11.0.
The 120S is arguably better than the Sabra Mk.I. It has no LWS, no IRST, no ESS, much worse hull armour, and much worse acceleration, but it gets access to an incredible 5s reload (instead of a 6s reload), even better round (M829A1 vs M322), much more reliable turret armour (M1A1 turret cheeks), Gen 2 thermals (instead of just Gen 1), slightly better gun depression (-10 vs -9), no NATO hump, and better gun handling (40 and 24 VS 34 and 15). It should probably go to 10.7. That being said, it should receive a better engine and top speed in return (Community Bug Reporting System).
The 2S38, after the BR decompression, is being allowed to face 9.3s with little to no armour, which is rather unfair considering it can fire its 57mm APFSDS indefinitely… with great optics and thermals with ESS to help. Move it up to 11.0.
The T-72M2 Moderna staying at 10.7 does not seem to make much sense to me, as it has a vastly superior round (TAPNA vs 3BM42), a coaxial 30mm (which can kill NATO MBTs through the side, along with barrelling / tracking MBTs while on reload), gen 2 thermals, and better turret armour over vehicles such as the T-80UD. The T-80UD gets a better reload (6s reload vs 7s reload) and slightly better gun handling, but I am not sure if that is enough to warrant them being at the same BR.
At 11.0, at least the T-80UD/BE gets Gen 2 thermals.
The Pantsir S-1 and the FK-2000 not moving up to 12.7 makes little to no sense considering they are objectively better than the ItO 90Ms in so many aspects, which are moving up to 12.3 as well.
The Ariete AMV should not have moved up in BR as it was already overtiered to begin with.
This also applies to the Centauro II (P), Centauro I 120, CV90120-T, VT4, VT4A1, T-84 Oplot, ZTZ99A, Challenger 2E, Black Night, 2PL, 2A5, and 2A6.
The AGS should already get access to M900. Then (and only then) can it be fine at 12.3.
I may have missed some vehicles but, as of now, I believe those are the most noticable problems with this BR decompression (at least for ground vehicles – CAS in GRB is a completely mess now. Most CAS aircraft from 9.7 - 11.0 have been completely ruined, others, such as CAS from 8.0 - 9.7, have become completely uncontested).
