I only have that problem in the Rafale, ironically.
I can’t push at range, so they push me and I stay defensive the whole time, then I can’t really shoot back because I would have to get out of the notch to find the targets in the first place.
So I stay defending till I get swarmed and die
It’s a game based on realism, but it’s still just a game, balance is what matters most
But wouldn’t it be dramatic if they allowed the missile’s maximum FOV to be exceeded using the radar,but it doesn’t make much sense

There is literally no difference between fring outside of the missiles FoR or its maximum lock range.
If it cant be fired at something greater than 55° off boresight, then it cant also be fired at something greater than 20km away

For extreme short range ye, for anything else I would prefer the typhoon or SM2.
You can just keep the rafale defensive with the SM2 without him being able to fire back even if he knows where you are
It’s not a big deal, but it doesn’t make sense the plane is already strong
What does that have to do with the price of bread?
Nerf every single aircraft that uses Aim-120A/B and C5s just because the AESA Typhoon at 15.0 is “fine”
The issue is that the rafale is capable of being defensive there and surviving till it gets close enough to really abuse the MICA

Its not. Sure on the stats, but in an actual fight, the Rafale wins most of the time.
Better Missiles, better CMs, better FM.
Literally the only thing going for the Typhoon at the moment is its radar. (in the fight vs a Rafale)
It’s a question of balance otherwise, it makes no sense to have aircraft that can violate the missile’s FOV at 13.0.
Top-tier aircraft with AIM-120s are not affected at all

Rafale for me, it’s very inconsistent, against a competent team you just get outpushed and its difficult to fight back
