The conversation about getting killed by M60’s 50 cal was talking about the BMP-2, its irrelevant to bring up the BMD-4 for the that conversation, now if we began discussing the comparison of armor of the BMP’s then it would make sense but that quote of your friend dying was attributed to the BMP-2 specifically.
Bmp-3? At one point it was yes. Bmds? 4M? No. Balanced yes, not Op. bmd4 was a little op in first introduction he’s.

balanced how? lets see, a bmp-3 with extra depression, superior speed + irst and 5x faster atgm reload.
the 4 missing atgms doesnt make a huge difference when you can just choose to go on a cap with one of the quickest vehicles ingame.
also bmd-4m > zbd-04, change my mind.

Its is well-know that the f104 is poor at higher tiers especially at 12.0 with Aspide-1A missiles at that tier with 9Ls which doesn’t help. Continuing on to that you need to sacrifice your gun to use the radar missile. It lacks a Pulse Doppler radar which every other 12.0 has. Compared the J8B which practically has the same kit with better maneuverability and at a lower BR. This is just a Over rated plane that is forgotten because no one plays it.

Im only refering to the part where you claim I only played Germany, everything else is fine. Its your criticism. Im just suggesting that it may look better if you dont leave the part where you claim im something im not because gaijin wouldn’t load my full page, it makes you less credible to leave stuff like that imo.

bmd-4m → 10.3 would be “balanced” as its hugely better than the zbd-04.
~2x depression with hyrdalics, much better hp/t, better atgms, almost 2x turret speed, but at a cost of having a 1 second longer reload and 4 less atgms.
after 160 matches with the zbd i have come to a conclusion that the apfsds rounds are worthless: the they deal much less damage than the apds rounds with a minimal increase in penetration. they are not worth bringing along.
but the zbd is still an excellent light tank at 10.0.
BMD-4M:
Slightly faster
Faster turret traverse
Only 4 ATGMs.
Hydraulics which you will often not use.
ZBD04A:
LWS / LR
Darts (20 mm more pen the bmd/bmp APDS rounds, and far less likely to shatter)
More armor
(Doesn’t say there’s a reload penalty on atgm load time)

definedly a skill issue. hydralics are always worth using on nonflat maps, also the turret ring is angled 3 extra degrees downwards already without using any hydralics.
laser warning system is nice, but not really needed at 10.0(cannot face UCAV). bmd-4m also has a LR.
why do you need the extra armor? its not like zbd is tanking any autocannon rounds.
bmd-4(m) 100mm reloads in 5s, zbd in 4s. basic information. makes little difference as almost nobody has sub 5s reload at 9.0-11.3.
To add the discussion,
Playing the Beglit, cv9030, and bmd-4M today, I really haven’t been able to do the best.
But. Given the fact I was keeping up with a bmd-4M in a cv9030 that was stock, (granted I was bait for three of his kills) I still don’t get why the cv9030 & Beglit constantly 1 tap vs the bmds and bmds don’t.
By far the Beglit has the current best cannon id say, I will have to see what the cv9030 with darts is like
Granted I do still believe the CV9030 should be a 9.0
BMP-3 should be 9.3
BMD-4M 9.3
And BMD-4 at 9.7
