Hell most MBTs perform pretty similarly statisitically except for the Type 10s (actual minor nation players), Merkava Mk.4s (actual minor nation players) and 2A7s/122s (best MBTs in game currently).

This is the limiation of player stats.
US is one of, if not the most popular nations and consistantly have some of the best vehicles at most BRs and yet typically have the worst stats.
In terms of vehicle performance Abrams is just much closer to the Leopard 2s than they are to everyone else and if reload rate is meant to be used as a balancing tool, then it shouldnt have a 5 second reload.

I think at top tier major part of their previous low winrates are more to do that they were a major nation without a clear win condition mechanic for the average player to use. Imo this has always been more of a problem than supposed “less skilled players”. USSR had uncontested Kh38 spam for a long time and Germany just had/has the 2A7 which has been top 2 MBT ever since it’s introduction. US had good vehicles, but they haven’t had such an obvious win condition in a while.
But yeah Japan and Israel high stats are due to players. These nations alongside France that have actually managed to back up the “minor nations have better players” claim.
Abrams is fine as it is compared to the rest, sure you could nerf the reload to 5.5 seconds and it will still do okay, but saying that it’s anywhere close to the 2A7s is cute.
